About this listen

American agent Erin Grayson has a new mission: romance international businessman Reece Champion. Seducing the handsome millionaire could put her that much closer to the revenge she craves against a murderous organization.

Erin doesn't realize she's being manipulated by the very group she hunts. Champion is actually an agent of the U.S. government.

He's also a vampire.

Reece senses the latent supernatural powers hidden within Erin, powers as dangerously irresistible to him as her lush body and hot blood. Yet he also knows that yielding to their mutual desire will make them pawns in a deadly game - a game in which their opponent is, quite literally, a monster.

To survive, Erin must embrace talents she never knew she had - and trust a man who is Master of the Night.

There is a story between all the sex

Have you listened to any of Angela Lathrop’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't. All in all I thought she did a good job, although many times I felt Reese's character to be a bit Hannible Lectur sounding. But it didn't detour me in any way from wanting to listen to the book.

Any additional comments?

Want a book with lots of hot sex... read this book. There is a story in here too it's not just one sex scene to another. I thought I may have made a mistake in purchasing this book, but get through the first couple of parts and into the first chapter and it picks up. There is lots of sarcasim in the book some of it witty other cheesey but enjoyable. There are some seriously cheesey lines from the characters, but many of them made me laugh out loud.

I would definitely listen to this as a series - the end had a nice segway to second story with these characters.

The book really intines the world of fantasy with the world of vampires with a new take on how vampires and witches came to be. Nice job!

Love the series but the narrative was not all it could have been.

I love this series! But the reader just felt (to me) like she was just reading out loud, she gave no soul to the characters. It also sounded like she was either trying to give the main female voice a southern accent or she was trying not to let a southern accent out.

Hot Fantasy Romance

The characters were likable, had driven purpose to do what they thought was right, and were intelligent. I enjoyed the banter they shared, and for as sex driven as this story was, definitely erotic, it took place in a surprisingly complex world. I do believe I will listen to the next one in the reading order, as soon as my cheeks quit burning.

Enjoyed this with a difference –

I really enjoyed the writing and narrating. I am not a fan of lots of different mythical creatures roll into one book, however Angela’s writing was done in a way where you’re not totally confused. And the world that she draws you into is magical.

Good story.. But..

Any additional comments?

I have to say I don't read/listen to books without sex in them and usuallly I just quit reading it the minute I run across the "C" word (4 times total). There's a better word for a woman's privates than that, I'm sure. However, I was already hooked on the story by then.
Arthur, Lancelot, Morgana, etc, in a vampire book? I had to see what that was all about. And I really enjoyed it.
I loved Reece and Erin and the idea that they had to have sex 3 times in order to bring out the witch in her was fasinating. And I loved to hate the bad guy, Geirolf. The author made him really, really evil. Over all an intense read and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the "C" word.

The narrator? She moved along with a good flow and her voice was nice to listen to but she did not even try to lower her voice when it came to doing the men's voices. She did just an OK job.

Wowserss!!

I must say, I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but I will say this, Angela Knight has a new fan!

I'm a big vampire fan so I decided to give this one a try. I am so glad I did. Ms. Knight has a unique stance on vampirism that is erotic and sensual along with mysterious. It is one "hot" combination!

I'm hooked!

Truly a MASTER!

OK. I've been a fan of Angela Knight for many years. (back in the EC days when i first read Captive Dreams) and i'd read this book a long time ago and loved it. so...

THE BOOK: MASTERFUL!!! the story was fast, the sex hot, and the hero and heroine blievable and lovable. Many secondary characters that got me hooked on the series from the get-go too.

THE NARRIATION: Equally masterful! Angela Lathrop was perfect. not only did she get the southern accent, but the english and scottish. it was an absolute delight to listen to and her interpretation really brought this book to life.

TOTAL CUDOS ALL THE WAY AROUND!!!

Good but kinda pretentious

I read the book and liked it but the reader for this version simply had a very odd way of dragging it out. At points it is laughable. You might enjoy it but be prepared to suspend annoyance about the inflections.
