About this listen

In This Heart of Mine, you met Kevin Tucker. Now meet Kevin's shark of an agent...and Annabelle Granger, the girl least likely to succeed.

Annabelle is tired of being the lone failure in a family of overachievers. She's endured dead-end jobs and a broken engagement. But that's going to change now that she's taken over her late grandmother's matchmaking business. All Annabelle has to do is land the Windy City's hottest bachelor as her client, and she'll be the most sought-after matchmaker in town.

With his money-green eyes and calculated charm, Heath Champion is the best sports agent in the country. He's wealthy, driven, and gorgeous, so why does he need a matchmaker, especially a red-haired screw-up like Annabelle Granger? True, she's entertaining, and she does have a certain quirky appeal. But Heath is searching for the ultimate symbol of his success: the perfect wife. And to make an extraordinary match, he needs an extraordinary matchmaker, right?

If Annabelle isn't careful, she just might find herself going heart-to-heart with the toughest negotiator in town, a man who's beginning to ask himself...exactly how perfect does perfect have to be?

Guilty Pleasure

I don't know what prompted me to download this audiobook and start listening to it. Maybe I was in a funk and wanted something light to cheer me up? Or maybe it was recommended on one of Audible's editors' lists? It's not the kind of book I go for. It's fluffy and sweet - a predictable romantic comedy with a slightly annoying protagonist and a leading man whose name is "Heath Champion". Heath Champion. Seriously?! But despite all of this, and despite a female narrator who over reaches trying to capture the bravado of some of the male characters in the story, I really enjoyed the book. Once I was in, I was hooked. It was a great listen - that perfect romantic comedy that leaves you feeling cheered up and satisfied.

GREAT MATCH

I loved the combination of SEP and the narrator, Anna Fields. In a romance novel, you know what the ending is going to be; it's up to the writer to give you a good journey to that end, and SEP provides a good journey. I was left wanting to know what happens next with Annabel and Heath; and Portia and her guy (Cobie?). Ms. Fields did a great job of giving voice to the characters. During the parts when she was describing action and wasn't doing a voice, I often thought I might be listening to Ellen Degeneres. It is tricky for a female to do male voices, and vice versa, but she carried it off quite well.

Match Me if You Can

This was a very well written at times very funny audiobook! I like a longer book that I don’t want to hurry through the dead parts and this didn’t fail. Buy it you’ll love it!

Lovely

This is the first book I have read in the Chicago Stars series. I didn’t realize it was part of a series until I looked up more books by the author. It was great all by itself. I loved the characters and dialogue. Overall, this was heartwarming and just what I needed in my life right now.

Annabelle has guts!

What made the experience of listening to Match Me If You Can the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed the fact that the heroine stayed true to herself despite the pressure from her family (which you slowly realize are not as evil as initially thought) and her bank account!
Such an entertaining, witty and of course girl-next-door woman was destined to dazzle Health. He did not stand a chance!

What did you like best about this story?

I loved how the characters from prior books (Phoebe, Dan, Molly and Kevin) are truly embedded in the story, instead of just being bystanders.

What does Anna Fields bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Anna is amazing. She brings the fun, passion and a full range of emotions through her narrations that would have been missed in the hard copy of the book. She is phenomenal.

Warm

What did you like best about this story?

Alright. I'm a guy. Not sure why I chose this. I'm not usually into these type of books. But I must say I was pleasantly surprised! The characters are well developed. It held my interest the whole time. And, the story was heart warming.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

There is someone for everyone...

Any additional comments?

Added a nice break from stressful days as I listened driving home from the office.

Guilty Pleasure

After a concious effort to listen to good literature this was such a light, funny, guilty pleasure. I usually like longer novels, but I am definately going to go to SEP for fun 'lighter' fair!
