About this listen

Is it just me? Or are all relationships complicated? I feel a little bit like it might just be me. Because I seem to be the common denominator in every one of my f--ked-up relationships.

The only relationship I have that’s not f--ked up is with my octogenarian sidekick, Al. Although even his loyalty has come into question a time or two - like when he tried to turn in his two-weeks' notice and I was forced to remind him that he can’t quit a job he doesn’t have. And even if he could, then he wouldn’t get to hang out with me anymore.

Anyway, at the top of this complicated relationship list, you’ll find my parents.

They practically showed up out of the blue, cockblocking straight out of the airport gate, and continued complicating my life from the moment they laid eyes on the Seacoast Majestic Resort, where I live and am head of resort security.

Next on the list - and most certainly the f--kiest f--ked-up relationship I have - is with a certain British Satan reincarnate that goes by the name of Erika Wild. She’s the activities director at my resort but has serious delusions of grandeur.

And while I could continue down the complicated relationship list - I won’t, because that’s for me to know and you to hear about and quite honestly, the meat and potatoes of this story.

So if you’re ready for another round of Caribbean-flavored action and adventure, then you’ve come to the right guy. Meet the Drunks is the fifth book in my story.

As always, rated R for colorful language, crude humor, sexual innuendos, and the occasional non-PC remark. Rated A+ for entertainment value.

Oh, and one more thing. While I’m not one of those people who’ll tell you what to do with your life or anything, I will say, if you haven’t listened to Drunk on a Plane, Drunk on a Boat, Drunk Driving, or Drunk on the Job, you might wanna start there. You’d find this story a lot more entertaining if you did. That said, this story can stand on its own two feet if required to do so.

Smile on your face while reading

This is a fun diversion to break up some of the tension of these times 😀

Not my favorite.

This was not one of my favorite Drunk stories. I found his mom overbearing and extremely annoying - like nails on a chalkboard. And his banter with Al forced. He sounded too tired and very flat. Still a fan and will continue with the series.

Almost too much Drunk and Al

The banter and word play between Drunk and Al was over done in this outing and seemed forced. Other than that, not a bad addition to the Drunk saga

Ugh! Ma!

This has been my least favorite in this series. Drunk’s mother irritated the HECK out of me. We all know Drunk was an actual police officer in the states, but here comes ma DEMANDING details of an on-going investigation, and, HE GIVES THEM TO HER! I very much dislike her character. On the flip side, this is one of the best narrations I’ve heard. Being able to capture the not so subtle nuances of an inebriated person is not easy, but he nails it! I laughed that entire bit.

Drunk's mom is the worst

I'm about half way through the book and a few times too many I have wanted to turn it off and I have skipped some parts of her ranting. I understand the whole mom being annoying theme going on but Drunk's mom is unbearable, like cringe to the extreme. I'll review completely when it's over.

Annoying narrations.

The only thing that saved this audible was the story. Too much sarcasm, petulant attitude annoying voices. Main character and mother were ridiculous.
