About this listen

The town of Midnight sits on a veil between the living and hell and this supernatural thriller takes a journey into that remote Texas town where nothing is what it seems.

Take a trip to the small Texas town where only outsiders fit in with the first dramatized audiobook in #1 New York Times bestselling author Charlaine Harris’ paranormal mystery series.

Welcome to Midnight, Texas, a town with many boarded-up windows and few full-time inhabitants, located at the crossing of Witch Light Road and the Davy highway. It’s a pretty standard dried-up western town.

There’s a pawnshop with three residents. One is seen only at night. There’s a diner, but people stopping there tend not to linger. There’s a newcomer, Manfred Bernardo, who just wants to work hard and blend in. But Manfred has secrets of his own...

Performed by Ken Jackson, Jonathan Lee Taylor, Tia Shearer, Matthew Bassett, JW Rone, Alejandro Ruiz, Amanda Forstrom, Bradley Foster Smith, Colleen Delany, Danny Gavigan, Eli VanZandt, Elias Khalil, Evan Casey, Gail Shalan, Holly Adams, Karen Novack, Matthew Schleigh, Michael John Casey, Nanette Savard, Nhea Durousseau, Nora Achrati, Rayner Gabriel, Richard Rohan, Rose Elizabeth Supan, Scott McCormick, Steve Wannall, Terence Aselford, Thomas Penny, and Tracy Lynn Olivera.

Great storytelling

The actual plot is basic but the story was fun and the graphic audio presentation was really great. I was really able to see the book in my mind and get to know the characters.

Good series

This version was just OK. The music behind the story was VERY annoying. The style of music did not go with the story line. Get the regular audiobook, it’s better!!

Too much music

Music is supposed to enhance moments in a story. The constant background music ruins the story and makes it impossible to enjoy the performances.

Worth the listen

I’d read the book previously but seemed to pick up more this time. Quality of the audiobook was excellent.

Highly recommend this book

Fun story

Intriguing mystery. Not too graphic. Lots of interesting characters that were well developed. I don’t like the fact that I have to sit here and make up words in order to fulfill your minimum character requirements.

I think I've read everything Charlaine Harris has written. I love this series and this presentation was great! I hope they continue and do the rest of the series!

liked it

interesting to hear it from.a cast . I had just listened to it from a narrator. I think this may be better except that Mr Snugly is not obnoxious enough.

small towns can be tough. tougher if everyone has a secret.

Not sure I liked it

Acting not great — overdone. The music was somewhat distracting. Maybe I’m too used to Susan Bennett’s narration.
