Just loved this one!

What a collection of unlikely romantic partners! I thoroughly enjoyed all of them and especially loved Miranda as she fell in and out of love.

Meh

The Jill Mansell books I have read seem to be over-long and this one is really in need of a lot of editing. The plot is all over the place and not that interesting. The main character gets seemingly forgotten about for long parts of the book, and the leading man even more so. The leading man’s “teasing” is pretty mean at times, and it’s hard to imagine them actually getting along that well as a couple. Finally the narrator’s voice is extremely grating, and her pronunciation of some words — including the word “a”! — is so awkward and odd. Overall, I listened to it only because it was free and I didn’t have anything else to listen to.

couldn't finish

Not sure when this was written, but it painfully had the feel of the 80s. Did not finish.

Skip this one

Normally I love Jill Mansell’s books. Sadly, the big mistake in this one was wasting my time listening to it. I can handled the dated references as it was clearly written a while ago. But the story itself had way to many plot shifts. There was no really development of relationship between any of the characters. Just skip this one.

What a mess! Hated it, Hated Miranda

Wow th8s book is just Awful! I have enjoyed several other books by this author. All of them were way too long and poorly edited but they had terrific banter and humor. But this book missed the mark on every level. It was kinda an interesting plot, but the delivery was terrible. The story has no structure, it just rambles on and on. Unfortunately the ranbling is boring, like listen to a person just spout whatever idea comes tothem randomly and without purpose. I felt lost and confised half the time because in the middle of an event the author will just starttaking out some future moments and your left rewinding wondering if you missed something - WHAT A MESS!. Then there are the characters, ugh. Out of the zillions of characters introduced in this book I disliked almost everyone of them. It was just painful to slog through.
