Publisher's summary

From The Bachelorette star and New York Times bestselling author Hannah Brown comes an irrepressibly funny romantic comedy about two frenemies on the verge of making the biggest mistake of all....

Emma Townsend can sum up her situationship with hot-as-hell romantic red flag Finn Hughes in one word: almost. They almost dated in high school. They almost hooked up after college. They almost took things too far one magical night. Their whole story is one series of “almosts” and “nearlys,” and now they just kind of can’t stand each other. Like, at all.

But this weekend, one of their mutuals is getting married...and Emma and Finn will have to pretend they don’t remember how disastrous it was the last time they were in a room together.

Emma’s doing a stellar job of playing it cool—until the bride goes missing. Now, with two days before the wedding, Emma and Finn are hitting the road in a sweet vintage sports car in hopes of salvaging someone else’s happily-ever-after.

Yet, somewhere between Emma’s breakfast burrito throw down, a high-stakes kayak chase (it can happen), and an outrageous Vegas detour, these sworn enemies are crossing more than just state lines. As old feelings spark once more, Emma begins to question whether risking your heart is ever really a mistake.

Dear Listener,

What did I learn about myself while writing this story?
"Writing fiction has been a huge dream of mine and I’m so thrilled to share Mistakes We Never Made with listeners! Romance is so fun to write (and listen to!), and writing this story gave me a chance to be vulnerable in a new way, as I peeled back the layers on Emma while getting to know her heart. Emma’s journey reminded me that unexpected adventure can bring so much joy, growth, and love. It’s always worth taking the leap—even if it’s scary!"– Hannah Brown, writer of Mistakes We Never Made

Easy listen but not engaging

This story is pretty good. I was not on the edge of my seat. But it was an easy listen. It’s an adventure to figure out what happened but you don’t find out till the very end and it’s anti-climatic. I love Hannah Brown and would be interested to see her write another book because she finding her voice.

Fun, hilarious, and hot!

Anyone of any age can relate to that feeling of young love and the one that got away. This is a fun and relatable story about love, insecurities, doubt, embarrassing situations, and best friends told in the most hilarious way! Then add in some hot and steamy!

Pleasantly Surprised

This book was recommended by a friend and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. First surprised about the Author because I watched Hannah Brown when she was on the Bachelorette and I loved her. She is funny, outgoing and unapologetically straight forward and there was the windmill thing IYKYK.
This is a slow burn so do not expect the smut/spice from my normal books I post about. This book is fun, the FMC and MMC go on a cross country chase for Emma's best friend and runaway bride. But as they embark on this journey not only do they have flashbacks of their past together from over a decade ago and the hurt Emma was still holding on to but Emma also learns a lot about herself and he need to fix everything and to be the one to make sure everyone is ok. There was a misunderstanding that Emma has been mad at Finn about and many missed relationship opportunities between the two of them. Being stuck in a car from California to Las Vegas to New Mexico they have no choice but to hash them out and make up for some of those missed opportunities in an elevator, on a hammock, and on the hood of Finn's car. I got some pretty good chuckles out of this one. Good read and narration.

Such a good book. A great balance between heartwarming and just the right amount of drama. A type of love story every one can hope for! I hope there’s another one! 💗 The narrator was also perfect!

Ready for more!

This was my first novel, as usually I’m a memoir type reader and I’m hooked! The story had me captivated all the way through and I could picture everything like I was a part of it all. Can’t wait for the next one.

Nice story

This was kind of like a modern day “When Harry Met Sally.” I loved how the timing finally worked out.
