Narrated by the talented Benjamin Crow and Kirsty Geddes, this audiobook catapults listeners into a world where Simon, a character introduced in the first book, is once again thrust into the midst of a war between Asgardian and Egyptian gods. Brace yourselves for an extraordinary journey filled with suspense, heartbreak, and the relentless pursuit of one's soul.

The plot picks up seamlessly from the events of the first book, immersing the audience in the ongoing saga of Simon, a character who is more than just a vampire. Carrel's writing is a masterpiece of descriptive prowess, bringing to life the realms of Asgard and the epic battlegrounds against the formidable Ra. Without venturing into spoiler territory, it's safe to say that the twists and turns in this narrative are as unpredictable as they are thrilling.

What sets this audiobook apart is the impeccable pacing, ensuring that there is never a dull moment. Simon, accompanied by a diverse group of friends, takes listeners on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and discoveries. The introduction of new creatures and the rich backstories of existing characters add layers of depth to the narrative, keeping the audience perpetually engaged.

The well-developed characters, with their distinct personalities and compelling interactions, contribute significantly to the audiobook's allure. The inclusion of sarcastic wit adds a delightful touch, providing moments of levity amidst the looming darkness of the war. Simon's journey is not just about the physical battles against gods but also an internal struggle against the encroaching darkness that seeks to consume his soul.

Carrel seamlessly weaves elements from the first book into this installment, creating a cohesive and immersive experience for those familiar with the series. Simon's quest is not merely a continuation but an evolution, delving deeper into the complexities of the heart and, this time, exploring the profound depths of the soul.

The narration by Benjamin Crow and Kirsty Geddes is nothing short of captivating. Their voices bring the characters to life, with Crow's portrayal of Simon as a multifaceted and resilient protagonist standing out. The duo skillfully captures the essence of the story, enhancing the overall experience for listeners.

Simon's journey transcends the conventional boundaries of vampire lore, as he grapples not only with external adversaries but also with the internal demons born from profound loss. The audiobook masterfully explores themes of love, duty, and the indomitable spirit that propels individuals to face insurmountable odds.

"More than a God War" is a fast-paced odyssey that culminates in an epic war between gods, a crescendo of suspense that builds throughout the narrative. As the battle lines are drawn, Simon's resilience and unique abilities emerge as crucial assets in the fight against Ra, the formidable Egyptian god. The audiobook skillfully combines action, mythology, and introspection, creating a rich tapestry of storytelling that is as engaging as it is thought-provoking.

J. R. Carrel's "More than a God War" is a triumph in the audiobook realm. Benjamin Crow and Kirsty Geddes deliver an outstanding performance, complementing Carrel's exceptional storytelling. This installment not only lives up to the high standards set by its predecessor but surpasses them, offering a thrilling and emotionally resonant experience that will leave listeners eagerly anticipating the next chapter in The Unbreakable Trilogy.

The first book on speed 🙌🏻

Just fun but not frivolous. Simon is on a spiral and it is yet to be seen in what direction it will take him. Nail-biting and brilliantly delivered.

Clash of the Titans

Wow, in this book, we find out more about Simon. Simon once again is in Asgard, but this time, they need his help in a potential battle with Rah. I don't want to give any spoilers, but I will say this the writing is absolutely phenomenal and very descriptive. Simon and his motley crew of friends there is never a dull moment. I love the introduction of new creatures and the background of others. This story has many twists and turns, so you will always learn something new and keep being amazed. I couldn't stop listening. I became deeply invested in wanting to know what was going to happen next. I love the interaction between the well developed characters, especially the sarcastic wit. The story is fast-paced, which builds suspense until it finally comes to a head and boils over to an epic war.
I highly recommend this book. You will not be disappointed. I received this book for free upon my request. This is my honest, unbiased review that I am leaving here voluntarily of my own free will.
