Publisher's summary

Accepting his dragon-shifting birthright will place a mark on Theo’s head. Can he level fast enough to survive?

Separated as a child from his family, Theo has always had a feeling that he’s made for something bigger than the suburban life he seems to be headed for. When a bully threatens his best friend, he can’t help but step in the way. The problem is that Theo’s just not much of a fighter.

Bruised and broken, Theo wakes up to a massive headache and what appears to be floating game text inviting him to become a dragon. While ludicrous, no matter how often he rejects the prompt, it simply returns. Knowing that his life can’t get any worse, he finally accepts...

And that’s when he’s finally exposed to the real world, filled with goblins, orcs, and dragons.

Having started at such a late point in life, Theo’s at a huge disadvantage starting at Level 1 and in extreme danger. As he soon learns from his squire, a woman who’s followed him in the shadows since birth, dragons are both jealous and territorial. The only way for Theo to survive is to embark on an epic quest to level up and to claim his rightful draconic heritage.

Drakon Prince is an exciting new LitRPG/GameLit novel from bestseller Jamie Mcfarlane, complete with goblins, dragons, elves, and orcs. The world includes game elements such as skill progression, user and weapon attributes, fortress building, soul shard currency, and much, much more for lovers of all things progression fantasy!

Great concept

This one starts off good and gets better as it goes on.
Pros: cool concept and a great pace all the way.

Cons: a little more explain the begging would have helped. The ending felt a little rushed.

Overall I would definitely recommend and can't wait for the next one!

A bit sophomoric

I have generally liked this authors books, this one not so much. It felt a bit like he was making fun of the worst parts of both lit rpg and harem novels with the over the top stats and emotional drivel. Maybe it was supposed to be funny?

Really Fun litPRG w/Dragons & Orks

MacFarlane produced a super exciting and compelling story of a 98lb weakling with daydreams of getting the girl, who realizes All his Dream's and then some. From Earth to a fantasy world. From stick thin to draconis & dragon. From his best friend to his love interest. Drakon Prince is the start of a fun story arc that's worth the credit.

Great book !!

This story is unique, the main character learns about his past and the stars start to align I disagree with the bad review while few still I didn’t understand their ravings I thing the Lit RPG series isn’t for them. Can’t wait to hear the next one !

Worth Finishing to the End

Some LitRPG's are better left as web novels rather than audio books. This one falls in that category. The narrator was fantastic, but I can see how reading stats out loud can be disruptive. Without spoilers, the author allowed the MC to make mistakes that was believable and painful. There is a lack of actual character development (aside from leveling up). The fights were intense, and drove the story forward, and there is a LOT of promise, potential to the plot, and world building. The writing, however, was only able to draw out the broad strokes and fell short of playing out the finer details and elements. It was decent writing but did not strike me as excellent or great writing.

Loved It

I needed something lighthearted and funny to get me through this work week! And this delivered! I think those who have trouble with the reading is taking things to seriously. Though since it's an honest review I think the comments about "Velma"s looks get to be a bit repetitive and old at times. I do appreciate though that they did not continue with romantics with a triangle.

Good

Not need the point description at every chapter ending. The rest is good and interesting.
