About this listen

A new Founder marked with otherworldly power. An epic quest to build a sanctum settlement. A fabled class that wields monstrous magic.

The Founders were the first marked, and they used those powers to build kingdoms, subjugate the land, and enrich themselves. They will not suffer another to join their ranks.

Lost in a world with levels, stats, and monsters, Hal fights to survive in an unforgiving land, and to escape execution from its rulers. Ingenuity and courage won’t be enough. With marked powers he doesn’t understand, he’s easy prey for all the goblins, bandits, aberrations, and foul monsters that plague the realm. He’ll need to abandon his humanity by embracing the beast within. To fight monsters, one has to risk becoming a monster...if he can survive long enough to level up.

Freedom and safety cannot be achieved alone. Only by forging bonds with fellow adventurers and monsters alike do Hal and his would-be kingdom have any chance of surviving the hazardous realm.

Beastborne in an isekai litRPG adventure series full of dungeon crawling, spell-slinging action, and deep magic systems.

So on average, I read or listen to about six books a week. It's no joke I might actually have a problem. The problem with reading so many books is it becomes harder to find authors that write more than subpar books. I am happy to say that this book was well worth my time, and so was its sequel. It has a great main character, but even more importantly, it has awesome supporting characters, each bringing unique charm to the story. I found myself thinking fondly of a lot of them. The author did such a good job at making the characters seem real and likable that I failed to notice how attached I was until they briefly left the story to do their own thing. While the beginning of the story is a bit slow if you stick it out, the story develops surprisingly well. It is an adventure and does a good job at hinting at possible developments without spoiling it for the reader or driving them nuts with too much foreshadowing. Overall, I would give this book a ten out of ten. If you don't already have something planned for your credit, this is definitely worth it.

Well Worth Your time

I'm a big consumer of litrpgs my biggest complaint...to short always right as things get good it stops and you have to wait for the next book. not so with this one. everytime I thought "oh its almost at the end" there was hours yet. even when the end did come i wanted more.

great story great characters great length.

I really enjoyed this book, very interesting story. I must say though that I almost quit after being several hours into it due to the very high amounts of stats that felt were excessive in the beginning. It did not let up until about half way through then it got much better. I am glad that I stuck out and I have purchased the 2nd book it’s a good read with endearing characters and a fair amount of humor.

Good story

Love It,
The cadence is good; it keeps me wanting more; I'm not too fond of books with cliffhangers, so I appreciate the end flow.

Love it

as someone on a second listen through of the series in preparation for book 4, I can say I have not enjoyed a filled out world and story from a litRPG like this one.

many focus to much on the sex appeal, or Stat blocks, this one has done a great job of building a magics rule system and a universe first before the story. small things that didn't make sense at the start of the first book make worlds more on a second listen with context to the world.

The characters are funny and engaging, and Hal isn't just a teenage horn dog looking for the next sexy fighter for his harem. the relationships feel well built upon and natural, and the fighting and dungeons don't leave you questioning what's happening in the scene, well thought out and detailed without being bogged down too much. highly recommend this series.

possibly the best litRPG around
