About this listen

When they took my life, I thought I had nothing left to lose. I was a fool.

The Ouroboros Project was my last chance at salvation, but the new, virtual reality was just as bad as the world I’d left. Backroom deals with corrupt nobles, slavery, and murder were all swept under the rug in the pursuit of gold.

Despite everything, I found mercenary life fulfilling, until my guild was attacked. Now, I've got unknown, extremely rich enemies on all sides, a mysterious woman with strange magic and compound eyes, and a guild to save.

They brought their war to my home. It’s only fair I return the favor.

The Trinity of the Hive is a complete collection of the a dark fantasy series by Grayson Sinclair, featuring a dystopian real world and a gritty, bleak, and immersive VR world.

Disclaimer: Not for the faint of heart or those with weak constitutions (roll a saving throw). Doesn't contain a harem.

It took me a while to get into this book but over all it was good and worth listening to. The ending had a bit to be desired though.

Good book but a little different.

I really enjoyed just about every aspect of this. The story was good. I could have used alittle more development of the characters but I’m not mad. The descriptions are great and the narrator did wonderfully.

There are people who say there are too many sex scenes but it honestly isn’t that much. There’s innuendo as well and it’s funny sometimes.

The ending was great and I was a bit emotional during it. Great series and will definitely listen to more by the author.

Very good

I was enjoying the story until it took a particularly bad turn in book 2. However, it appears to have been written by a particularly horney teen aged boy. EVERYTHING is dripping on prepubescent sexual fantasy and spent most of my time rolling my eyes.

Decent Story, Could Do Without the Soft Porn

Grayson Sinclair is a good writer and provided very good backstory to most of the major characters. However, the MC, Samson, is leader of a Guild and is so reckless one wonders whether he should be wearing Harlequin as a fool playing the part of a leader. The RPG world is one where if a player dies he is resurrected but starting at level one and loses everything. As a level 100 warrior he gives sage advice about not over-extending oneself in a battle else dying and starting over again and almost before ending his words-of-wisdom does exactly that and comes within a hair's width of dying. Then, at another point where he almost dies by turning around during the heat of the battle to check on a team mate and afterwards, again stating wisely that one should never do that. A bit later, during another battle ... wait for it ... he does exactly that again! and later AGAIN!

Samson is dislikable by design since he's the leader in what is meant to be a dark story but his personality is grating, random and eventually overly melodramatic.

Neil Hellegers is an excellent narrator and performs well with this series but his talents were somewhat under used on the series.

Still, I enjoyed the series overall and felt a sort of kinship when he came out with the Fallout New Vegas quote.

Uninteresting MC

I am still speechless, this was a fantastic series and enjoyed listening to every moment of it.

give a chance, you won't be disappointed

I enjoy it, I truly did but my few complaints were not mentioning the sex scenes in the description because I DEFINITELY would not have started listening to it at work, and that they basically just described the one on one straight scenes when there were a few girl on girl and three ways scenarios that were basically glossed over. You were told it happened but not in detail like with the one on one. Just my opinion but for me it's either all the sex scenes should have been included in detail or none of it and just glossed over, bit of a tease there.

Good but don't listen around others

I only picked the book because it was a good deal and I'm working on my own involving a hive, thought maybe it could be decent research. Because I didn't really know what I was getting into, I was a little surprised by the romantic scenes, but I'm not opposed to them and they were a lot tamer than many other books.

The main antagonist is exactly what I look for in an antagonist, the kind of person you despise, but can't hate, at least not with your entire being, because on some level you understand their motivation and could see how someone would end up in their position.

Love interests were great, it was kept fairly simple. Some people are upset about it being a "Harem" but I hardly consider 3 people to be a harem. At least it's not the MC spending 50% of the day trying to satisfy twelve women, but rather a strong bond between three people with very few and often merely implied sexual scenes.

The ending was perfect. I listened to it on the way home from work and sat for several minutes in my car at 1 in the morning trying to work through the last bit. It's been a long time since I've gotten the privilege to enjoy an ending like this, and it's something I've always wanted to do with my own work.

There are issues, but it's all likely my own preference. I could nitpick everything I scoffed at, or thought didn't fit with certain personalities, but in the end it's all so trivial that there is no reason not to give it 5 stars across the board. I enjoyed myself more with this story than in quite some time, and that's all that matters.

all hail the summoner eliminating 400 players over 2,000 npcs. how in the hell is he weaker then his sister. utter nonsense. my only grips is I would have like more story regarding the gods given that are attainable mantels. I'm kinda confuses my bug queen with her final choice. Seemed kinda pointless. personally I would have waited longer instead of entrusting it to an ai who since the start of VR space had no counter measures for an eventuality that should been expected day one. what happened to the outside team and the director. As a programmer and industry game dev I would have made at last 15 back up farms to port into the second that corruption happen espesually in case of not being able to log out. There are holes. but story is decent.

The description says this book doesn't contain harem elements but the MC has two lovers. The story is good tho but I don't like being lied to.

the description lied but still a good book
