About this listen

Living in a lighthouse with her dog, Lindsey Bakewell is lulled to sleep at night by the sound of Lake Michigan's waves—and gets up at the crack of dawn to start the day at her bakery cafe. But someone in Beacon Harbor is about to rock the boat with murder . . .

After a career on Wall Street, Lindsey is making a different kind of dough in a pretty lakeside village, and the upcoming blueberry festival—including the pie-eating contest her bakery is hosting—is the highlight of the summer. But soon Beacon Harbor runs into a patch of trouble.

A local real estate agent gets pranked. A parade float gets pelted with water balloons. It's all laughed off until the stunts start escalating—and looking more like sabotage. As the event turns into a debacle complete with rampaging goats, Lindsey's sweetheart, a former SEAL, starts investigating. But the juicy mystery takes a bitter turn when a man—dressed up as a Viking—is found dead in a boat, and it's no longer mischief but murder . . .

Murder at the Blueberry Festival

I'm intrigued to listen to the other books in the series. I found this book 1st. This is a nice cozy mystery.

Fast becoming my favorite cozy series.

With each new release Darci Hannah just gets better and better.
The charming setting, quirky small town characters, great recipes and a compelling murder made me look forward to my morning commute and after work dog walks (This is when I usually listen to audio books).

Unlike other cozy mysteries Darci Hannah's protagonists (all in their early 30's) act their age and not like a geriatric ward . There is even a hint of sex. .I love the relationship between Lindsey and Rory, And I am so Glad Kennedy has decided to split her time between Beacon Harbor and Manhattan.!

Can't wait for the next installment!

Intriguing & wholesome storytelling❣️

Wasn’t liking the constant repeat of murder victims name & of other characters the reader has come to know a good way into the book.

Best one yet

This one although there was a sad murder, was hilarious at times especially with the goat afloat on a boat! I admit I want to write down all Lindsey’s recipes and enjoy her bakery in a lighthouse, however I will have to savor them while listening.

Hope there are more to come. A mix of light romance, comedy and mystery all-in-one.

a most enjoyable story that kept you guessing on who done it?

I really like this story because it kept you guessing who done it and why and the people in it were enjoyable to listen to and I like the fact that they had a large dog and a goat and a very happy ending!

Blueberries, Lighthouses and…

Stumbled upon this author while at a book store. Darci draws you into her story, and wished you could visit this quaint little town and stop by the local bakery.

Great story

Great cozy mystery. Both the author and the narrator kept me invested from the first chapter. With a number of twists and turns and a result I didn’t see coming, I was hooked.

comedy and poignancy

A series of pranks unfold at the Annual Blueberry Festival day 1 and 2 and when it looks like she’s the next one up, Lindsey & crew actively look for the perpetrators. However, early in the morning Lindsey & Rory are awakened by a goat loudly bleating. But she’s in a Viking boat, on the lake, drifting along the coast. Welly, Lindsey & Rory tow the boat, rescue the goat & find a body. Lindsey is convinced that the body is related to the pranks.
I was surprised, and pleased, by the poignancy of this story after the campiness of the previous one. No complaints on either.
Ms Bentley: There’s no bra in Bavarian; and the word is ‘proving’ harder than it looked, not providing. Yes, there’s room for improvement but it’s decent overall.
