About this listen
It's official! Siobhan is now Garda O'Sullivan, and her five siblings couldn't be prouder. While her brother James runs Naomi's Bistro, Siobhan is doing her part to keep the village safe. Of course, Kilbane is pretty quiet compared to a place like Dublin, where Macdara Flannery has gone to be a detective sergeant.
Then one night the local priest summons Siobhan to the church cemetery. There's a dead man in the graveyard - above ground. He's a stranger, but the priest has heard talk of an American tourist in town searching for an Irish ancestor. A detective sergeant is dispatched from Dublin to assist with the case, and, as fate would have it, it's Macdara.
Things have been awkward between him and Siobhan since he left, but their partnership soon unearths that the victim was from Dublin, Ohio. As they dig for a motive among the gnarled roots of his family tree, long-buried secrets are unearthed.
Now, they'll have to stay two steps ahead of the killer...or they'll end up with more than one foot in the grave.

Tara never imagined her introduction to Ireland like this - carrying her mam's ashes to honor her final request: "Tell Johnny I'm sorry.... Take me home." She's never met her mam's estranged brother, Johnny Meehan, who owns an architectural salvage business in Galway. Although Tara is immediately charmed by the medieval city, the locals seem wary of strangers, and a gypsy warns her that death is all around. When Tara arrives at her uncle's stone cottage, the prophesy seems true. A dead man lies sprawled over the threshold in a pool of blood.

This series gets better with each new book
This 3rd entry in the series does not disappoint. The story of how secrets and money can destroy a family for generations is wonderfully plotted.
The author also did a wonderful job dealing with the passage of time across the series.

Wonderful, clever, intriguing !!
Another twisted murder adventure by Ms. O’Conner, with even more open ended clues that lead the reader (listener) in all different directions.
Well written and excellently performed. Ms. Lennon’s voice has a pleasant Irish lilt that changes easily to an American accent as well.
I am now very invested in Gardas O’Sullivan and Flannery, and I anxiously await the next installment of this series!!

Totally enjoyable and engaging.
I love this group of novels mostly because I love Ireland. But most of all I so enjoy the narrator, the food, the O’Sullivan family and Siobhan. She is feisty, assertive, smart, and unique on to herself. I’m so glad I have several more to read. Well done.

Good twists
I loved the story. The narrator did ( as always) a great job at each character depiction.
The story reeled me in from the start. I did guess at who (as I like to do, trying to suss out the killer as soon as I can) but it threw wrench after wrench in my guesswork.
I enjoyed all of it.
