About this listen

Murder in an Irish Village: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!*

In the small village of Kilbane, County Cork, Ireland, Natalie's Bistro has always been warm and welcoming. Nowadays, 22-year-old Siobhan O'Sullivan runs the family bistro named for her mother, along with her five siblings, after the death of their parents in a car crash almost a year ago. It's been a rough year for the O'Sullivans, but it's about to get rougher.

One morning, as they're opening the bistro, they discover a man seated at a table with a pair of hot pink barber scissors protruding from his chest. With the local garda suspecting the O'Sullivans, and their business in danger of being shunned. It's up to feisty redheaded Siobhan to solve the crime and save her beloved brood.

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Too many lame concussions just for the sake of length. Well portrayed Irish town life but a bit sticky.
entertaining at times, really boring and senseless at others.

A bit boring.

I felt that this was a good book. I thought this was a delightful read. I enjoyed the humor and the suspense.

A dark humor story

It got pretty good at the end; was a little slow; I didn't care too much for background music & the Irish accents didn't sound too authentic.

Hard to stay interested unti the end.

...and the narration, but found the background music distracting. I would rather not have it

If you are looking for a book that is not filled with sex and gore and filth, but is still tantalizing in its story-line, this is for you. The mystery of “who-dun-it” is well spun and leaves you waiting for the page to turn. You run with the main character from one hunch to the next - and there are wonderful sound effects spun through. There is even the tease of romance. Lastly, the lilt of the Irish brogue in the voice of the reader makes you feel that you are lying on your back in the lush green Irish grass reading the book. I loved it.

Irish Village is a delight!

My star rating is very deceiving because I really cant rate the story or the actual performance because the background music makes it impossible for me to listen to it. It’s so distracting I only made it through 2 chapters!

Should come with a warning ⚠️

After reading the great reviews this book got, I was very disappointed with the first two hours of it. To be honest, I haven't listened to all of it yet, but then I never may. The annoying Irish brogue makes the boring storyline even more tedious to listen to. I use audiobooks to keep me entertained when driving, and this book is a major fail in that department. I only gave two stars because... well not sure why, it could easily be a one star rating.

Very disappointing

I just can’t with the music, it’s too distracting I just want to hear the story. I probably won’t finish it and hate that I spent money on it.

The Music!
