I loooooooved this listening for so many reasons, one being it is very relatable. We all stay in relationships out of fear, guilt or shame. #BreakTheStigma #Time4Change

Very good listening

I loved this story of the allure of the forbidden & of lines crossed…. & of a foundation built on lies. Once more showing that a foundation built on the shifting sand of forbidden affairs can not ever become the Real enduring life long Love that so many of us yearn for.

Enjoyed this author.

Illuminating realism

This is an enthralling story. Fortunately, I listened to it on a drive longer than the story---otherwise, I would have had to cross the next state line just to hear the end. Cris Beam illustrates how easily one can come under the sway of someone else's power and control, losing one's own identity and sense of self. This story offers insight into why people stay in abusive relationships, by bringing us directly into the narrator's heart and mind. I can't imagine anyone, after hearing this story, asking "But why did she stay?" The voice of Aida Reluzco seems perfectly matched to the story. Save it for a time when you'll be able to hear the whole thing, or you'll miss your exit.

Enthralling

I have always been a fan of Cris Beam‘s writing, since Transparent. Her crisp words stand out in every genre, from short story to narrative nonfiction.
I didn’t love the voice actor, she seemed to make the story salacious.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend this listen/ read.

I'm glad this subject matter was discussed. That guy couples experience the same pitfalls as straight people. I hope this story can help someone to leave their abusive situation. Great story. It keep my attention all the way to the end.

My First 5 Star

You could see her mistakes coming a mile away -- you know this much from the description, so no spoiler -- so it was interesting to see her process it. A situation made possible, maybe even likely, from her upbringing. Makes me think about my own wounds and scars and choices.

Insightful, painful journey

Just proves the saying to “home wreckers” & cheaters “ you can lose them, the same way you got them”. The story is in first person, the voice of the patient turned wife. They jumped into a relationship quick, and hurting people by doing so. I enjoyed the free story, but I wouldn’t pay for it( it’s generic).

The story is about karma & deception
