About this listen

Bestselling author Monica Arya flips the script with this revenge and obsession-based thriller for fans of Dexter and You.

Living in the shadows for years means you know just how dark things can be.

She's married to the man who should have been mine. She's raising the child who should have been mine. She's living the life that should have been mine.

Her family destroyed and tormented me. They thought they had gotten rid of me like mere trash.

But here I am.

Lurking in the shadows. Watching their every move, plotting, and planning.

They thought they were powerful.

But here I am.

I may have to lie my way into their perfectly tailored lives, weaving and snaking myself into their safe haven. All I know is this isn't a simple white lie I'll have to tell. I'll have to tell a dark one, a destructive one… A navy lie.

And when I do, I'll take back everything that is mine.

Very frustrating

Light spoilers ahead - The book tries too hard w/the supposed twists and all of the self-talking instead of moving the story along. It's also a cop out when writers try to hook the reader in w/a ridiculous plot when it's really just a crazy person jerking the reader back and forth. Maybe once or twice okay, but not through the whole book because it quickly becomes very predictable.

People behaving in absolutely unbelievable ways was equally annoying and if you overheard someone talking about giving you a possibly poisoned drink, you wouldn't drink it right? Also the situation w/the kid was totally out of left field and again, unnecessary.

I listened at 2xs speed on the last 2 chapters just to get it over with..I advise waiting until there's a 2 for 1 special before wasting a full credit on this one.
