About this listen

Medical treatment for ADHD fails much too often - not because of the drugs themselves, but how they are given. New ADHD Medication Rules - Brain Science & Common Sense shows that patients can react very differently to ADHD prescriptions, resulting in missed diagnoses, imbalanced treatment and over or under medication. In the only audiobook of its kind, Dr. Charles Parker clearly explains how this happens and how improved communication with professionals can dramatically improve treatment using available methods assembled from clinical experience and laboratory research.

I really liked I like that key touched on multiple modalities for diagnosis as well as Digestion timing, metabolism, absorption, seeking advice, nutrition, the insolence of picky eaters, TRAMATIC BRAIN INJURY (my father had a brain tumor after California encephalitis and I have never heard someone touch that subject before in a consumer-facing title) ...

What I like most is that the advice was succinct with the right amount of subjective examples covering all the topics that I try to reiterate with family members that have ADHD. So much easier just to tell them to listen to this on my Amazon account! 🥰.

I first heard of Charles Parker because he has many ADHD videos and has been making them on YouTube for years they are all short and succinct just like this book I would bet that the average video of his is like 4 minutes long which is pretty fantastic. highly recommend of the 5 ADHD books I've read so far!

As a parent of an adhd 7 year old who cannot sleep I found this very informative.

I highly recommend

From the perspective of someone who was told to “try to do crossword puzzles every day to sharpen your mind” when I finally got to a doctor to get help for adult ADHD, this is the worst book I have listened to, to date.

It taught me that even if I (and my diagnosed children and my diagnosed siblings) was(were) to be helped by these doctors who tell me all my symptoms are due to “just stress”, that the real treatment is so out of reach due to doctor comprehension and insurance red tape that I will not be truly helped in my lifetime.

Confirmation that I am on my own with this issue. I cried through the whole book.

What a horrible book

Great book! Top notch, Dr. Parker is very knowledgeable in ADHD and is constantly studying and writing update research, and is very familiar with the new treatments in the market. I would recommend this book to anyone who has ADHD, and is MUST for Psychiatrist who takes care of patients with ADHD.
Finding the correct treatment for ADHD is possible, don't give up!

A must read for patients with ADHD and caregivers.

Sensible and solid. I stumbled upon this book as a friend suggested it. I’ve always wondered if my son might have ADHD. Halfway through this book, I actually don’t think he does, BUT I have learned more about ADHD in one day than I ever thought I knew. I love this doctor’s insights and descriptions about how ADHD actually looks in people. And the information about medication is incredibly wise. It is making me think of other friends I have who have probably been suffering from this for their whole lives and never knew.

So incredibly informative and fascinating

Dr Parker knows his stuff and lays it out very clearly in this book that he has narrated. I think this book is vital in understanding adhd and specifically the medications associated with it and how they work. I can’t say enough good things about this one.

Critical info for anyone with adhd
