About this listen

The fight is far from over.

After repelling invaders in the south, President Latham and the newly formed government direct attention toward enemies in the north.

As war-torn survivors cling to life, Will and Isabella are assigned to an Army cavalry unit tasked with a special mission. With the aid of new friends from Evening Shade, Missouri, they battle to save the country from Dempsey and his sinister forces bent on total control.

Torn between protecting family and defending the nation, Will makes agonizing choices that place him in the center of the war and the fight of his life.

This is in the same "universe" as the 'Days of Want' book series!

I liked the whole story, book 1 to now. It took me till book 7 to realize the 2 book series were related. When 3 large military men with ZZ Top beards appeared and their names? : Ryan, Rank & Lugnut! Then I realized General Dempsey, Maddie, Stevens, Sharp, Texas...... All the same! I'm totally fan-hurling over this. Thank you TL for giving more of what I said I wanted in my review of the Days of Want books.

Love the EMP universe Payne created!

I think Fall of Houston series was better than the Missouri series. But I truly love how he incorporates all the characters. Will seems to be favorite, then believe it or not Fisher! I need more of her backsty! Walker is another favorite. Savannah seems a bit whiney, kind of like Maddie. On to another book of TL Payne!

Edge of Seat Storyline

This book is an amazing continuation to the apocalyptic saga. I can’t wait for the next book to drop.

I liked the story kept me interested. The intertwined stories of two different series is so fun. I appreciate it being clean and wholesome. Thank you T.L. Payne

Good story and real world-ish scenarios

Well written and well read. The struggles these folks endure seems much like the struggles would be in the event this actually happens. Though like any series in this genera it gets bigger as time goes on.

Overall decent.

I don’t care for most of the characters in this series. I don’t like some of things they do in this series. In this novel will and other soldiers force people from a compound. Later will and his friends decide hey maybe we can move in there. Like what a bunch of scumbags. Just fallowing orders is a garbage excuse. Like you through force take people prisoner. Force them from the homes they built. Than you move into it. Jesus Christ that’s horrible. I honestly just wanted them all to die. They do other things in other books that are crappy too.
