About this listen

Benji: Crafting swoon-worthy happily ever afters is literally my day job. Being a quirky introvert with an overactive imagination, underwhelming social skills, and a few pounds overweight, I'm no leading man.

My best friend, though? He's total cover model, call the plumber because I just flooded my basement material. He's also outgoing, charismatic, free-spirited, and basically the best guy ever.

I may know romance, but I'm no dummy when it comes to reality. I'm nothing special. And the truth is, a guy like Darren would never fall for someone like me.

Darren: I'm the poster child for failure to launch. Twenty-seven, didn't make it in Hollywood, forced to slump back home to Australia.

The only bright spot in my life is nabbing the apartment next to my best friend, Benji. He's like no one I've ever met. And yeah . . . I am so stupidly in love with him it's not even funny.

When Benji needs some inspiration to clear his writer's block, I gladly help out. He wants to write a friends-to-lovers romance, and I'm his best friend. This should be a cinch. It's not as if he's suddenly going to fall in love with me. And the fact is, Benji could do so much better than me.

Contains mature themes.

Sweet and emotional listen. Benji is in a writing slump so he asks his best friend and neighbor Darren for suggestions for the new book. Darren has been in love with Benji since the day they met. He sees this as the perfect opportunity to slowly let Benji know how he feels. Benji is quirky and sweet, with a bit of social anxiety. I loved his imagination. Darren loves teasing Benji and their elder neighbors (loved the Reds!) with his yoga and grey sweatpants. I definitely needed a few tissues listening to this wonderful story. Grant Cartwright did a fantastic job with the narration. I enjoyed his accent and how he differentiated the main characters.

Lovely story. Such a unique take on a romance novel. If you love this genre, you can't miss this one! This story is going to stay with me for a long time and that's unusual for me. You walk away feeling like you know these guys, and your life is somehow richer because of them. An absolutely perfectly weaved spell!

So many feels!

OMG. THIS BOOK. I think this is my first Casey Cox book and it won’t be my last! This book made me cry 2 times, laugh, swoon, and feel every emotion! It’s the sweetest story of friends to lovers I’ve ever read. It’s unrequited love on both sides, and the main character is also a romance author so you know how fun that is to read about! It’s funny, quirky, sexy, and emotional. I highly recommend the audiobook as well.

Friends To Lovers Perfection!
