About this listen

When she agreed to go on a date with quantum physicist Dr. David Fergusson, Kate Kallastad never expected that he would insist on demonstrating his breakthrough in the creation of a trans-space teleportation device. Nor did she expect to get caught up in a science experiment that would send both Kate and her date back in time.

Stranded in the past with nothing but time on her hands, Kate accepts a job as a maid in the household of the gorgeous, commanding earl of Harrowby - a man unlike any she's ever met before.

Brandon Ryder, the earl of Harrowby, has spent a lifetime bound by the rules of society, and one of those rules is that a gentleman doesn't trifle with the help. However, Kate Kallastad is no ordinary employee. His lovely new maid challenges him at every turn, astounding him with her audacity to treat him not as an earl but as a mere mortal man. Kate's honesty and comfortable familiarity dares Brandon to break free of boundaries that have long ruled him, enticing him to indulge in the truest passion of his life...and his growing passion for her.

I appreciated the fact that the author went to the Past and also brought them to the Future. not too thrilled about the ending but the Way It Was Written give it partial closure at least.

A different twist from other time travel books

I just love these time travel romances. On to the next one, then the next.

Another great one by Fortin!

I liked the story but the ending was just "meh" for me. Kate was likeable enough. She did have some non 21st century behavioral moments that left me thinking "oh hell no". Some characters were introduced that I felt didn't add anything to the story. I liked Harrowby and I loved seeing him loosen up with Kate's help.

story 2.75
narrator 3.75

antony ferguson's american accent is always entertainment. there were times where in kate's dialogue his british accent came out but knowing that the american accent isn't his strong suit i was happy with his performance.

Not Great But Good

Good story.

This story has lots of funny parts and great characters. The narrator was able to flip between accents so effortlessly that i found myself being dragged into the story, despite not being interested in historical facts. My imagination ran wild and it wasn't hard to enjoy the past and current day. In the end. ..I would giggle hysterically every time David got involved.

Fantastic.

If you're looking for a typical Time Travel or a typical Historical Romance then this isn't quite it. It is a pretty good melding of the two... yet lacking the stuff I really love about that time in London Society pieces and yet not gritty or meaty enough to be a time travel sci-fi piece either. I don't mean to say that it was less then wonderful... In its own way it really was! However it managed to cross both genres so lightheartedly that it left me kind of floundering on my response to it.
The characters are very real and the settings spring to life. The plot was good and the writting enjoyable. Somehow there is still "something" about it I can't quite put my finger on.

NARRATOR: I LOVE Anthony Ferguson!!! He can do NO wrong!

CREDITWORTHY? Hmm... I wouldn't use my very last credit on it but I don't regret using the one that I did either.

HEAT FACTOR : Steamy!

wonderful! but....

I really love these books, I do always want the story to go a different way but end up liking them in the end.
the only thing, I really rather have a woman read books like this only because a womans voice is more believable as a man than a man trying to sound like a woman.

love this books

I happen to love time travel books, this one was no exception. Good story, pretty clean read with very little sex scenes.
Narration was good, though not a huge fan of his female voice.

Good book
