About this listen

Born under a hunter's moon, abandoned as a child, I was raised to be a powerful sorceress - okay, a mediocre sorceress. All right, I'm good at glamour and can make things sparkle, if my spells don't backfire. It was foretold long ago that I was a child of prophecy that would unite the fae and humans of Candor. The only problem, no one told me, and now the king wants me dead.

For I am Eden, one of the adoptive daughters of Lady Eville, and I have to attend the royal masquerade ball - not to win a prince, but to avenge my parents. Even if it means pretending to be a fairy godmother and wreaking a little havoc.

Cute clean Cinderella moment.

Loved twist at the end. I liked this one a little more than the first one. This one had more of a romance story line.

So worth it!

I was hesitant to listen to this because I wasn’t a huge fan of the first book. But i decided to listen anyway because the plot was fine in the first one it was the characters I couldn’t stand. I’m so glad I did because I loved this one! I loved how all the elements of the Cinderella story were included and appreciated but at the same time it drew attention the major problems in the original story. The prince was indeed very kind and charming in the first few interactions, but if you only know someone on a surface level it can be a disaster. I liked how the ml was both the godmother and the princess as well that was a fun twist.

Another one I loved!

The narrator was phenomenal. The story kept you on your toes. I wished she would have gained more confidence in herself and we could have seen more mary and where she went after but I bet that is the next book

I really loved this book

It kept me on my toes the entire time… I could not see where it was going until the very end.

Rushed Wrap Up

This narrator is AMAZING! She was very engaging with all the voices, making it quite a theatrical performance.
The story was also a refreshing twist on a classic. However…. most of my praise is negated by the wrap up to what seems like all the world’s problems in a matter of a few paragraphs, tied up with a pretty little bow, was extremely disappointing. The ending was rushed and far too conveniently neat for my liking.
