Publisher's summary

I lost everything because of him. He says he would give anything to get me back.

Once upon a time I had it all: an Olympic gold medal, a career as a professional ski racer, and a happily ever after so close I could almost touch it. Then, my perfect life imploded in one tragic weekend.

Five years later, I've rebuilt my life with the best girlfriends, the perfect new boyfriend, and a new career. Now my ex—the one who wrecked everything five years earlier—is back as the newest member of the national ski team, and I'm forced to be his physical therapist.

My days are filled with him. He's constantly shirtless, and sweaty, and sexy as sin, and trying to make me fall in love with him again.

But I built these walls around my heart for a reason—and his presence is threatening to undo everything I've created without him. With the stakes this high and the sexual tension this hot, this could all go so very wrong.

Or, maybe we're on the edge of getting everything we ever wanted.

On the Edge contains globe-trotting to ski destinations, powerful female friendships, athletes with ridiculous bodies, a strong heroine determined never to have her heart broken again, and an even stronger hero willing to do whatever it takes to earn back the love of his life. It's a steamy romance with no cheating and a happily ever after.

A Heartwarming 2nd Chance!

I very much enjoyed this one! While miscommunication isn’t my favorite, everything else in it was! The enemies to lovers vibes paired with second chance made for some great tension and banter.

Jackson has to learn to let go of her anger fueled by failure to communicate and Nate knows exactly what he wants and he’s not afraid to “go for it” while still letting Jackson choose to come back to him.

The spicy open door scenes were well executed and the first real scene had me chuckling just because of how it ends. 🤭

The narrators did an excellent job! Just the right amount of emotion without overdoing it!

Great performances

Nate and Jackson were high school sweethearts having already been together for years, both in the competitive skiing world. Jackson had a shot at major win, but she ended up getting injured, and Nate was no where to be found. Sounds sketchy… BECAUSE IT IS. Don’t want to spoil anything but I definitely got very angry at a side character. Anyhow - it’s 5 years later, and now Jackson is Nate’s PT. Can they keep things professional?

It was fun to finally get Nate and Jackson’s because I’ve seen them in all the other books (yes, I continue to read out of order). I knew they ended up together, but seeing how much they had to grow and learn before they were able to get there was great.

I listened to this on audio, and I actually really, really loved both performers. Elizabeth Russell’s voice was so natural sounding and perfectly sultry when needed. Gideon Frost was also the perfect Nate and sounded like a realistic age (I hate when the male narrator sounds significantly older than the character).

Simply Wonderful

The Frozen Hearts series beginning, a great introduction to all characters surrounding this amazing couple!

Tropes:
Sports romance
Second chance
Forced proximity
Found family
Spice
Miscommunication (the kind that adds to the story not detracts, aka the good kind)

Jackson and Nate get a second chance romance in On the Edge. With both of their professional careers having ups and downs, there is tension in the plot as well as between the two of them. Their chemistry is off the charts and when they light that flame, phew! What makes this story a five star for me is that the situations that cause problems for our MCs are not too far fetched or falling flat. There are clear reasons for everything and that makes this story a winter sports romance fan’s dream!

The narrators did take me a little bit to get into their voices during the inner monologues, however after a few chapters in they really found a groove and I won’t ever be able to imagine anyone else as Jackson or Nate! Their vocal range really added to the emotional aspects of the story and will definitely help listeners feel for the characters as they navigate love, loss, professional strife, and everything in between!

DNF

I just couldn’t finish this book. I did not like the narrators and the story was just not what I hoped for. I did not like Nate at all. I was actively hoping for her to not take him back. And Jackson wasn’t a very strong h, very back and forth and couldn’t make a decision for herself, I just couldn’t find anything likeable about either of them. So I’ve called it quits with 3hours left. I tried….
