About this listen

This program is read by British actor Sofia Oxenham, best known for her starring role in Extraordinary and her performance as Princess Eugenie in A Very Royal Scandal.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue meets This is How You Lose The Time War in this fantastical love story that defies death as two souls reincarnate through the centuries.

They've loved each other in a thousand lifetimes. They've killed each other in every one.

Evelyn can remember all her past lives. She can also remember that in every single one, she’s been murdered before her eighteenth birthday by Arden, a supernatural being linked to her soul. The problem is that she’s quite fond of the life she’s in now, and her little sister needs her in order to stay alive. If Evelyn wants to save her sister, she’ll have to find the centuries-old devil who hunts her through each life before they find her first, figure out why she’s being hunted and finally break their curse, and try not to fall in love . . . again.

Critic reviews

"An excellent, anticipation-worthy achievement." —Booklist

“Two doomed souls keep reincarnating as star-crossed lovers in this sweeping romantic fantasy… vividly illustrating love’s boundless nature.” —Publishers Weekly

"Sprawling, star-crossed, and sensational, OUR INFINITE FATES is the kind of book that only comes around once in a lifetime. With immaculately crafted settings and whirlwind twists and turns, Evelyn and Arden's story is a breathtaking romantasy that gives enemies to lovers a whole new meaning" —Kara A. Kennedy, author of I Will Never Leave You

Editorial Review

Is this my catnip or my Kryptonite?
IWhatever it is, I lost a few days of my life to this book, but in the best way possible! A super swoony reincarnation romantasy, Our Infinite Fates has that same magic and mysterious feel as some of my favourites like Addie LaRue and A Witch in Time. A curse, the underrealm, a centuries-long doomed love affair and an inspired performance by actress Sofia Oxenham all spark the imagination. But what I love most about this story is how author Laura Steven so deftly toys with the idea that there are certain intractable things that will always make us us, in this life or the next. —Emily C., Audible Editor

Lacks something more

Conceptionally sound work, but the execution left me grasping for more. It was bursting with imagery that really painted the author’s picture exceptionally well, but it lacked overall substance. 3.5/5

So much potential

I really loved the idea of this fantasy; doomed love, reincarnation, and ect. I just feel like it wasn’t executed as best as it could. I kept waiting for more, wanting more from the characters love, their past lives, and the present day storyline. Also, the author used more descriptive language and smilies than should be legally allowed, like SO MUCH description when she should’ve put more effort into the actual dialogue between characters. It was a good book and I enjoyed it, but it had so much potential to be do much better.

1000 Lifetimes of You

I fell in love from the very first chapter! As mentioned in the bio, the fantastical storyline was reminiscent of Addie LaRue, and will be adored by fans of this book.

Evelyn and Arden are fated by a curse of infinite lives. The poetic writing and atmospheric descriptions of the many lifetimes Evelyn and Arden have fallen in love are woven together beautifully. Despite Arden’s desire to protect Evelyn, the curse that tethers their fates together, also binds them to an early death in each life. Evelyn can recall each lifetime she’s lived, all of the people who have touched her lives, and the infinite Arden’s she’s loved. While she and Arden yearn to be together, it’s imminent she will die at his hands in each life before they turn 18. The origin of Evelyn’s existence is the only memory that’s unclear and why Arden’s pursuit to protect her also means he’s destined to kill her in each life. Evelyn’s current life is different, however, as the fate of her sister depends on her and she’s determined to prevent Arden from fulfilling their destiny despite the impending consequences.

This will be one of my favorite books of the year!

The writing is exquisite!

Delicately painted scenes were overflowing with the details of the character’s lives and drew me in to walk alongside them to share in their joys and sorrows. I thoroughly enjoyed this generous, sentimental mystery. The tones of courage and love and hope are sweet and bright and infectious. What a timely masterpiece in the light of the current tides of human suffering.

Beautiful Tragic Story

4.5 / 5 ⭐

I loved this book, Arden and Evelyn have been finding each other in every lifetime and in each one are destined to kill each other before their eighteenth birthday. The premise was intriguing to me and I enjoyed the flashbacks to different time periods, the moment they recognize their soul counterparts in new people and the different ways they died each time. Tragic, fated mates, Evelyn so hopeful and Arden so sad in his quest to end their lives but never able to explain to her why. I really enjoyed their love stories. I both read and listened to this, Sofia Oxenham's narration was really good.

Beautiful and sad

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue is my all time favorite book. This will possibly be my second favorite. It’s exquisite. It’s steeped in pure love. In pure sadness. It’s got so much and that reveal was perfect. That ending was perfect.
The narrator did great.

unique

this was definitely a different style romance that kept me on the edge of my seat. I finished it pretty quickly because I couldn't stop once I started.

This book is an emotional roller coaster

Beautifully written. This book was just… so many feels. And the ending, I’m still in tears. I’d give this book more than 5 stars if I could.

The Invisible Life of Addie Larue is one of my favorite books and this book is on that same level. The writing style is poetic and usually I know what the twist will be but this was a surprise. It was bitter sweet in all the right ways. This book has given me a major book hangover.

Narration was really good as well.
