From NYT bestselling author Rachel Gillig comes the next big romantasy sensation, a gothic, mist-cloaked tale of a young prophetess forced on an impossible quest with the one knight whose future is beyond her sight. Perfect for fans of Jennifer L. Armentrout and Leigh Bardugo.

Sybil Delling has spent nine years dreaming of having no dreams at all. Like the other foundling girls who traded a decade of service for a home in the great cathedral, Sybil is a Diviner. In her dreams she receives visions from six unearthly figures known as Omens. From them, she can predict terrible things before they occur, and lords and common folk alike travel across the kingdom of Traum’s windswept moors to learn their futures by her dreams.

Just as she and her sister Diviners near the end of their service, a mysterious knight arrives at the cathedral. Rude, heretical, and devilishly handsome, the knight Rodrick has no respect for Sybil's visions. But when Sybil's fellow Diviners begin to vanish one by one, she has no choice but to seek his help in finding them. For the world outside the cathedral’s cloister is wrought with peril. Only the gods have the answers she is seeking, and as much as she'd rather avoid Rodrick's dark eyes and sharp tongue, only a heretic can defeat a god.

Critic reviews

"I’m obsessed with Rachel Gillig. The Knight and the Moth is achingly romantic, richly imagined, and told with a gossamer delicacy that keeps the pages flying."—Hannah Whitten, author of The Foxglove King
"With the headiness of dreams and the darkness of haunted abbeys, The Knight and the Moth is a dazzlingly transportive tale of love, salvation, and freedom that cements Gillig as one of the finest fantasy writers of our age. You will never want to surface from these enchanting, depthless waters."—Ava Reid, #1 New York Times bestselling author of A Study in Drowning

“A gothic, romantic fairytale that feels like falling into a dark, strange dream—one you won’t want to wake from. With twisty parables, monstrous divinities, a slow-burn romance and magic with a deadly cost, the story of The Knight and the Moth unfolds like peeling back a gossamer shroud. Gillig has done it again—I’m obsessed.”—Amélie Wen Zhao, New York Times bestselling author of Song of Silver, Flame Like Night

What a kingdom? What a story? What tale of love? This beautifully written book has a great magic system and great characters. The revelations that bestow each character is remarkable. The FMC is like a child awaking straight into adulthood, and finding the true power within and creating a found family and finding love along the way! So good!

Such a good story! Love the revelations!

It's a fresh new captivating Story! Not something we have heard or seen before. The only thing that has some symbolence is the diviners are giving a little miniority report vibes. I will read/ " Listening" to anything Rachel Gillig writes!

Don't miss out!

I’m very picky about audiobooks because sometimes the voices annoy me, but she did fantastic! I read and listened depending on what I had time for and I absolutely loved this narrator. She was amazing. Also this book was beyond words! I loved it so much, can’t wait for book 2 :’)

This was an interesting read. I absolutely loved the Shepherd King duology which is why I picked up this book. However, it really took me awhile to get into it. I did end up enjoying the story and will most likely pick up the sequel but this one was not my favorite. The ideas of the diviners and omens is certainly an interesting concept, but it was still lacking. I didn't feel the chemistry was as strong between 6 and Rory as other romantasies. I did love the gargoyle. He definitely stole the show. Maybe my fault is I'm trying to compare it too much to the shepherd king duology and should just review it as it is. I also, personally, did not love the narrator and possibly would have enjoyed this story better reading it.

I love the gargoyle
