Star Force is called to arms again! Outcast is a new beginning, the first book in a new spin-off series.
Many peaceful years have passed since the Macro Wars ended. Most of those who fought against the heartless machines have aged - but not the ingenious artificial construct known as Marvin. His insatiable curiosity is as strong as ever, and he’s brought home fresh perils to humanity’s doorstep.
The new Saga in the Star Force universe begins with Outcast, the longest book in the series. A full-length novel of military science fiction by best-selling authors B. V. Larson and David VanDyke.

I'm so happy to have this spin off. I always wondered what Marvin would be getting up to once Kyle went back to the farm. Give me more please!
Cody Riggs and Marvin FTW!

This was done very well. Usually when they change the main character it all falls apart.Great idea to keep Mark Boyett,

I felt that the stories of Riggs, Sr. and the nan-ites was growing a bit stale.
Riggs, Jr. Is the story redoux with the ability to move new characters into new and less constricting environs with new challenges.
I am not sure what the future holds as Mr. Larson has added a co-writer (ghost writer?) and I think that while this new twist of a story is welcome and enjoyable it is not new or different enough to keep my attention for long.
The issue confronting any author is that the competition is both intense in terms of the talent able to break thru much more easily with the ease and exposure of electronic publishing, and in terms of the breadth of material available to pursue in so many traditional genres, novel new genres and cross-genres.
The expectations of we readers has climbed to new heights and the most valuable thing we possess is our time. I will not waste it on mediocrity and venues/forums like Audible allow me the luxury of seeing what my fellow readers/listeners think of a potential read/listen. I can listen to a sample. I can even return a certain number (six in six months?) if I am very displeased.
Viva le Audible!
Power to the listener 👊.
😱
Riggs' Pigs: 😱

It's no Undying Mercenaries, nor is it as good as the preceding book, but it's more of that good space battles and boarding actions we've all come to love.
Cody Riggs is no different from Kyle Riggs
