K. Bromberg
A forbidden, Formula 1 romance from New York Times bestselling author K. Bromberg.
You don't mess around with a teammates ex. Ever. But that's easier said than done when it comes to Blair Carmichael. She's sexy, intelligent, gorgeous, and one hundred percent off-limits.
And I've never fallen harder.
But I can't touch (when I most definitely want to).
My teams success and my chance at a new contract for next season depend on me keeping my hands on the wheel. And off her curves.
As the season progresses, we secretly steal as much time as we can together in hotel rooms, after races, anywhere we can't be found out. A real romance out in the open would risk her job in the industry, her reputation, and my image not to mention my strained relationship with my teammate.
I've lived my whole life with one mantra. Team first. What I want outside of my racing career hasn't factored in.
Until now.
Until Blair.
She deserves the world and I plan on giving it to her. Even if I have to walk away from the biggest contract of my career.

When they have a nice moment while taking a break at an event, Lachlan is mesmerized by the curvaceous, sweet, funny, interesting, witty Blair. From that fortuitous encounter, to an all night chat where neither realizes morning came (at a hotel bar no less), they soon realize that what they have is special, a once in a lifetime thing they can't ignore. However, being together presents immediate problems for both. He's breaking "the bro code", she would be dating her best friend (and now) ex's "rival" and dating a racer may make Blair look bad in the eyes of her F1 bosses. So many things against them... but there are also sweet kisses, "flowers", peppermint candies and being truly and completely SEEN. Who can resist that?
K. Bromberg wrote the most adorable golden retriever, cinnamon roll book boyfriend EVER. Lachlan is everything! What I most liked about him was how in tune with his feelings he was, making it easy for him to really be able to communicate with Blair.
I also love that Blair is the curvy girl who OWN is. And I love how Lachlan is absolutely driven wild by her body AND her soul. What a lovely book!
Narrated dual style by Stella Hunter, who's amazing as always as Blair (and Aussie Lach) and Gary Furlong. It's (I am ashamed to admit) my first time listening to Gary and he was the perfect choice for Lachlan! He does a subtle Australian accent that is just right . He also gives Lachlan all the swoony vibes and I loved it!

I believe this is the first audio I have listed to of Gary's and the accent of his absolutely blew me away. And when he spoke for the spicy scenes. 🥵 Stella did an excellent job as always - she gave the perfect amount of spunk to the feisty side of Blair.

I enjoyed this one, but not as much as I liked the first two books in this series. I'm not entirely sure why this didn't work like the other books, but it wasn't a bad addition to the series. Lachlan and Blair were perfect for each other. I loved how the two of them supported each other and how they truly just wanted the other person to be happy. I loved the friendship they developed first and how Blair wasn't afraid to go for what she wanted. Overall, I enjoyed the story and appreciated how everything between Blair and Rossi played out
I will say I was gifted the audiobook, and the narrators did an amazing job with this book. I've listened to Stella Hunter before, and I absolutely love her, so that was no surprise. I didn't realize it while listening to this one, but I've listened to one other book from Gary Furlong and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for other books he narrates.

Formula 1 Sports Romance. Stands alone easily.

Thank you K. Bromberg for sending me a copy of this audiobook. This review is unpaid and 100% honest.
"I don't want perfect. I just want you."
Over the Limit is the third in K. Bromberg’s Over The Limit Series featuring F1 drivers and I am obsessed with this series. The first three books stand alone very well, so it’s OK to start with this one, but I do recommend you read Over the Limit before the next book, Out of Control.
Formula 1 (and occasionally other racing) is the only sport I watch, but I honestly don’t think you need to be an F1 fan to love this book. I have loved many other sports romances without watching the sport, and K. Bromberg never makes you feel like it’s over your head. I do think that after reading this you may want to check out the sport though—20 HOT guys racing a death-defying speeds with lots of interesting and easy strategies to watch? Yes please!
Now for the story. Blaire Carmichael grew up around F1 racing and now works in event management for Apex Racing. She’s been dating Oliver Rossi, the bad-boy driver on the team, for over 10 years since his karting days. Rossi takes her for granted, cheats on her, disrespects her career, and treats her like garbage, but they are friends and have been together so long that it’s hard for Blair to walk away, but she finally puts herself first and ends things with Rossi.
Lachlan is the quiet Aussie driver on the team (I’m thinking Oscar Piastri's personality with Danny Ric's looks) who has been attracted to the beautiful plus-size Blaire and hated watching his teammate treat her like he did. Since they work for the same team Blaire and Lachlan got to know each other. He comforted her after the breakup and he and Blaire became very close friends. So close that she quickly learned how a man was supposed to treat a woman.
Blaire works for the team and already having a boyfriend on the team doesn’t look great from the outside. But if she started dating the other driver on the team it could look disastrous for her, especially as she is working on a pivotal event for her career. In addition, Laughlin doesn’t have a contract for next year and this relationship could factor in to whether he is offered another one.
The chemistry between them is on fire. The way he falls for her is beautiful and their communication was just so strong. I loved the way he put her first and treated her job like it was as important as his. But could this relationship cause them to both lose their spots on the team?
“Touching you is my new favorite thing.”
Likes:
•I loved the way they talked all night, truly getting to know each other, I find that missing in so many romance books.
•A plus-sized heroine who didn’t need to lose weight to find happiness.
•A plus-sized heroine where her weight was barely a blip in the story.
•He fell first and hard!
•Lachlan was just such a good, protective guy.
•Lachlan’s dirty side.
•I loved their communication.
•The F1 part was done very well, both on the track and behind the scenes. I just wish there was more of that.
•Lachlan came from a happy family, something you rarely see in romance.
•His romantic side…the flower bouquet!
Dislikes:
•If this happened in real life, the press would have been awful, I felt like they got off a little too easy..
•It all wrapped up just a little too quickly for me.
The Narration:
Stella Hunter and Gary Furlong were both amazing. I did have to slow down the book just a little (from 1.4 to 1.2) to accommodate for his Aussie accent, but the accent just made it so much more authentic. I loved the narration and I am glad I chose to listen. His want and worship of her and his adrenaline on the track were portrayed beautifully and Stella was just perfect for her part.
The Down & Dirty:
K. Bromberg did it again with Over The Limit! I have loved a lot of her books over the years, but this series is not only my favorite of hers, but one of my favorite series in general. Yes, I may be biased because of my love for F1 but I loved her books The Player and The Catch and I’m not a baseball fan. Over the Limit had characters I loved, lots of angst without it being too much, amazing romance, exciting racing, and hot, well-written sex that wasn’t cheesy and didn’t take over the story. I can’t wait to see how Kristy redeems Rossi in Out of Control.
Rating 4.5 Stars, 3 Heat, 4.5 Narration

"Over The Limit" is a delightful and romantic love story about Lachlan and Blair. Lachlan, a Formula 1 driver, is determined to win a world championship, while Blair is dedicated to her job and gives it her all. Blair has been in an on/off relationship with Rossi for a decade, enduring his mistreatment. However, when Lachlan witnesses how Rossi treats Blair, he becomes furious. A chance encounter between Lachlan and Blair sparks a connection beyond mere flirtation. They fall for each other, but navigating their jobs and avoiding hurting Rossi proves challenging.
What sets this story apart is the stark contrast between how Rossi and Lachlan treat Blair. Lachlan's genuine care and respect for her shines through, while Rossi's actions are deplorable. I also appreciated the representation of Formula 1 in the story, although I would have liked to see more depth in that aspect.
The narration in "Over the Limit" was superb, especially with the dual narrators who flawlessly portrayed the Aussie accents. Stella Hunter and Gary Furlong did an incredible job bringing the characters to life and capturing the essence of their personalities. Their performances added more authenticity to the story, making the listening experience more enjoyable. The way they seamlessly switched between voices and accents was impressive, and it truly enhanced the overall immersion in the audiobook. Kudos to the narrators for their outstanding work delivering exceptional audio performance.
While I thoroughly enjoyed the book, I did feel that it lacked some spice and wished for more significant events to occur. The ending left me wanting more, as I still don't know if Lachlan achieved his dream mentioned at the beginning. Nevertheless, "Over the Limit" is a fantastic audiobook that captures the essence of romance and the challenges of pursuing dreams in a high-stakes world.

Blair has been dating Rossi for a very long time and their relationship has really started to seem one sided. After they break up, Laclan, who is on the same racing team as Rossi starts a a secret relationship with Blair. Things are complicated further as Blair works for the team and just received a promotion. If anyone finds out about her and Laclan, this could jeopardize her career.
Formula 1 racing romance was a trope I didn't realize I was missing out on until this book!
Fantastic Narration & Story
