About this listen

Hundreds of five-star reviews. Hundreds of thousands of copies sold. Over 700 pages of lightning-paced supernatural action.

Meet your hero....

Atlanta is ground zero for a supernatural invasion. Enter Justin Case, a snarky nerd with all the heroic potential of a potato. That is until he comes into his demonic powers and finds out everybody hates demon spawn. The problem? He might be the last hope for uniting the Overworld and saving us all.

Dread nemesis of mine...

When Justin's long-lost sister, Ivy, shows up at a funeral it seems like the family reunion Justin has long hoped for is finally here. But Ivy isn't interested in playing Barbie or hanging out at the mall with her big brother. She's on a mission against evil, and Justin is at the top of her big-bad-meanies list.

Twisted sister of mine...

Justin Slade is living on borrowed time.

The vampling curse is gnawing away at his body and his sanity. Because the cure might lie in his special kind of magic, Justin goes to Arcane University in a desperate attempt to unlock his powers.

When he runs into his little sister, Ivy, at the university, Justin realizes this might be his chance to convince her he's not evil. Even better, she might be able to cure him if her shape-shifting protector, Bigglesworth, doesn't eat him first.

Dearest mother of mine...

When Justin finds out Daelissa plans to use his mother, Alysea, to reopen the gateway between the mortal and Seraphim realms, he decides it's high time to mount a rescue operation. But she's being held by Jeremiah Conroy, the most dangerous and secretive Arcane in the Overworld.

Of course, Justin's got even more problems when he accidentally kills the brother of Maulin Kassus. Who happens to be the leader of the Black Robe Brotherhood, deadly expert battle mages. And Kassus wants revenge.

Best series in a long time

This the best series I have heard in quite a while. I love the characters and adventure. The story is big and full of action. Thanks for this, Corwin.

Eh...

While overall I enjoy the story, some of this writing is just laaaaaazy. The main character, who's uber powerful and the fate of the world depends on him....gets kidnapped more than Daphne in Scooby Doo. And way too much of the plotline, and the main characters focus, is spent on who is hooking up with who instead of..oh..you know...saving the world.

Great

Other than the slow beginning of the first book, which I believe is necessary, the series is pretty fast paced and keeps you on your toes.

Had issue getting into story

i almost gave up in the first few chapters of the first book. i decided to trudge on because it was an audio books. i am not into the high school angst and all that. i figured it could only get better right? well it got better but that took a little doing i still dont understand some of the aspects of the story but it should become clear in books 4 thru 6 hopefully.

Stays Fresh

After six books the characters and story just keep getting better. Austin Rising is an amazing narrator, every character has their own voice and feel. Absolutely love this world and story.

Another good continuation of the story

Justin and his friends continue to learn more about the situation they are in and continue the fight against some strong supers. You will not be disappointed in this series.

This series is great but...

I love this series. And the reader is perfect. He’s good at varying voices. He has an interesting tone and his voice lends a lot to the story line. But...
I’m very picky. And every time the author uses the word belied(as in her youthful appearance belied her true age), AUSTIN reads it as bellied(as in bellied up to the bar). It kills me. Bellied and belied are two completely different words. 😒
And when the author puts “sigh” on its own as text, AUSTIN should read it AS a sigh. 🤦‍♀️

About the story. I am intrigued by the way the author develops the main character’s personality using voice and free flow of thought. Justin’s thought patterns are random, off topic and silly at times. But that adds to the charm of the character. I love it. As a listener he is a character you can either love or hate. As I am ADHD, I love him. No editing needed.

The story line is quirky but engaging. It was a bit off putting at first to be faced with all the sexual content. But what did I expect? He is an incubus after all. And the story has plenty of twists and turns, heartfelt and funny scenes.

In all I love the series. And I can get over the readers issues. I’d highly recommend this author. 😁👌🏻

Sexy cowboys, yum!!💜

Fantastic and sexy story. City girl meets cowboy is one of my favorite tropes. Somewhat predictable but still feisty & fun.
I’m loving all the brothers in the family too. This promises to be a great series and I can’t wait for more.
The narration was absolutely perfect. Both narrators did a phenomenal job with all these wonderful characters.
This is book 1 with an HEA. I recommend this book.

A bit disappointing.

I found the first three books to be much better. The main character seems to be regressing in maturity instead of progressing.
