Publisher's summary

People often think of Job sitting on the ash heap, his life in shambles. But how did he get there? What was Job's life like before tragedy struck? What did he think as his world came crashing down around him? And what was life like after God restored his wealth, health, and family?

Through painstaking research and a writer's creative mind, Mesu Andrews weaves an emotional and stirring account of this well-known story told through the eyes of the women who loved him. Drawing together the account of Job with those of Esau's tribe and Jacob's daughter Dinah, Love Amid the Ashes breathes life, romance, and passion into the classic biblical story of suffering and steadfast faith.

Amazing, thrilling, challenging!

This one is a nail- biter! I stayed up way too late several nights because I couldn’t stop listening. The story is heart wrenching; the characters emotionally powerful; the transformative power of their faith- challenging and inspiring. I loved the story though at times I just wanted to get past the agony! It really brought Jobs suffering to life! I really appreciate how Mesu takes the time to explain from where and how she accumulated her research and developed it into fiction while using as much fact and scripture as possible. What a gifted and inspiring author. I have just finished reading- listening to all of her novels. What a blessing!

Compelling Story of Faith and Trust

Most of us will struggle with doubts, shame, and regrets at some point in our lives. This book captivates the love that God has for us, forgiveness and redemption. The author does a phenomenal job of character development, and keeping you on this edge-of-your-seat as to what will happen next. I would highly recommend this book.

EXCELLENT!!!

Mesu Andrews is an excellent author. I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy this book about Job, since his story has so much suffering, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I found myself reading the scriptures to learn more. My only difficulty is following all the different characters names that are so similar in sound and unfamiliar to me. Thank You for all the effort that went into this wonderful work of Literature for us to enjoy and learn from.

Andrews knows Yahweh with a true heart

Outstanding presentation, outstanding research, bringing characters to life in ways I’ve never thought of. Thank you Mesu Andrews for creating this tapestry of life to surround the biblical character of Job and his wife!

What If?

What if, Job was alive during the patriarchal era? He very well could have been. Great story telling, redemption, faith, love and typical M.A.’s fictional account weaved within God’s Holy Word. If you know your bible, listen to the author’s note first. Then proceed. A great fictional account of Jacob’s “ deceiver – ness” and all of the dysfunctions of his household. Yet, God chooses and God loves, and God blesses who he blesses. Recommended!

Good

The book was good but FOR ME it was hard to follow. I am not familiar with the story of Job so I got confused 1/2 way through.

This is just me because of my lack of knowledge.

Very interesting

I thought this book was written very well. I enjoyed it and while you know some of it is embellished when it’s finished the author then explains why she wrote it this way and how she came to some conclusions.
