About this listen

POINTE

Getting screwed over backstage by my married ex tears my heart into a million tiny pieces. I live in my pointe shoes, not even my ex can taint my love for ballet. And then my whole world changes when I notice the smoldering gaze....

OF....

Leo Richards. Concentrating on anything except his sexy...everything, is impossible. He makes me second-guess everything I've ever dreamed about. Fighting him is a strategic sport - no clothes allowed.

BREAKING

Our scandalous rendezvous is plastered all over NYC's tabloids. My ex will stop at nothing to tear us apart. Rumors about his past keep building. When it came to Leo, I only knew the big things. But uncovering those things about him [her] may push us past our breaking point.

I liked it. Story was repetitive at times and I think maybe having a guy for the guy povs would be better but the performer did a good job.

Excellent, loved this!

Ballet seems to me to be a forgotten art and books like this always remind me what an incredibly sensuous dance it is. Amy Daws and Sarah J Pepper have crafted a story about love, tradition, elitism and friendship. Adeline and Leo have an instant attraction. Because of social classes, wealth and tradition , there are many obstacles these two have to overcome. So many well developed characters, Blake the one you love to hate along with Sasha and Felicia and good friends like Ivan and Chase give you a well rounded story. I have to say, there is definitely heart wrenching scenes, making your heart ache for the pair, but oh the hot ones that make you burn. This for me was an excellent listen.

Valerie Gilbert gave an incredible performance of this book. I love her ability to separate her characters and give just the right amount of inflection and emotion to s scene to make it believable.she always brings her best to the book and I look forward to her narrations.

Engaging and Emotional Story!

Pointe of Breaking is an engaging and emotional story about a ballet dancer, Adeline, and Leo, a college student that has everything including secrets. They are drawn to each despite outside forces that try to keep them apart. The roller coaster ride that the authors create for us is exilerating, taking us through the love and heartbreaks and everything in between, including all the twisty turns, as Leo and Adeline find their to each other.

Valerie Gilbert was just wonderful as the narrator for this book. She had the ability to makes us feel all the emotional twisty turns from beginning to end.

Bad boy meets Ballerina

This was a good concept of a story. A secret socialite society, rich fraternity bad boy and a broken ballerina. They find each other unexpectedly, but have to work extra hard to stay together due to their secrets and social statuses. Leo and Adeline were a good match at times, and other times notsomuch. The narrator was good, but I had a a hard time following the change in characters or the tone of the situations at times. It was a good solid 3 star listen for me.

Could be my fault....

I very well Could've misinterpreted the description of this story! I thought the H and h were ok...but I wasn't impressed with some of the situations that took place! For Example Allowing your EX to have sex with you RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A BALLET PERFORMANCE then he put his wedding ring BACK ON & walked out! I READ A PREVIOUS REVIEW ABOUT THE ACTIONS BEING THAT OF NORMAL YOUNG ADULTS OF THIS AGE!!! Really?? cause I don't agree! I also think it's Unique that such an amazing "H" would be OK knowing that his So Called "BROTHER" had sex with her then he immediately JUST FELL IN LOVE!
.....DON'T GET ME WRONG, I DID NOT HATE THIS BOOK, I just saw a few Flaws! IN MY OPINION! I did enjoy the story for the most part, It just needed a bit more work that's all!
Also I DO THINK THE NARRATOR Didn't do the best job! I think that might be part of my issues as well!!
***WAS IT WORTH A CREDIT???
Yes I would pay a Credit for it! it's a, decent length book & I did enjoy it!

***WOULD I RECOMMEND IT TO FRIENDS & FAMILY???
Ummmm that's a hard question! yes as long as they are ADULTS cause of the language & situations!

Wonderfully written and narrated

Five stars all around for this one! Definitely felt the emotions in the characters. When Adeline danced her performance for the troops i cried. i usually only listen in my car, i didn't want ro get out. l finished the chapter from my house and wanted to stand up and clap when she finished. Recommended for sure!

a modern mix with the classical... on many levels!

This was an interesting book. the angst between the characters was really, really good. I loved how the brotherhood used the rules to make a stand and yet true live
love made Leo react wildly.
the narration was good. I was only bothered by the fact that some of the characters were made to sound like old movie gangsters.... yet, it was set in New York and there were a lot of male characters to narrate.
I liked seeing the music score to ballet being modern rock and was kind of upset when noone stood up for her coming out in fishnet stockings with her hair all wild. I love the mix of classical ballet with modern creativity.
I wish they would have connected with her twin and that the story would have jumped forward more in the epilogue.... but over all, I enjoyed this book!

Great!

I loved this book when I read it about a year ago and knew I wanted to listen to the audio when I saw that it was released. It was just as good in audio as it was to read it. The narration was perfect for this story and this narrator did a fantastic job with the voices. The story itself is unique and honestly pushed my boundaries a bit for what I like in my romance books but in a good way. These characters were intense and well developed. I really enjoyed this audio and highly recommend it!

Pointe of Breaking

Overall a very solid read. The book starts off with a bang, and the angst just grows from there. There is a secret boys club called the Gold. The Gold is ran by Blake and his father, and they run this whole town. Adeline is such a strong person, I love how she is with Leo. The duel narrators totally make the book a hit.
