Story
Before the lights went out, Jack Warrant never considered himself a prepper. That was someone on the edge, a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday cultist who had a fatalistic view of the world. He was neither a theorist nor a cultist. He was an optimist. At least that was what he told himself when the darker thoughts creeped into his psyche as he stared at the ceiling in the middle of the night. Whenever he started down the rabbit hole, he always clawed his way back into the sunlight.

Story
When a series of devastating terror attacks brought down the United States, Conor and Barb assumed they were safe in their compound. They had everything they needed. They were armed and highly trained. But then, Barb was kidnapped. The kidnappers didn’t know why Conor was known as The Mad Mick. They didn’t know the fear and respect his name invoked in the shadowy underworld of covert operations. They didn’t know that when it came to protecting his family, he was without conscience, without compassion, and without equal. But they would soon find out.

His job pays well and gives him insight into the corrupt shadow government, but it can't help with his problems at home. Mason assumed that the hefty price tag for his daughter’s private school would buy him a pass from the insanity plaguing New York’s public school system. Nevertheless, indoctrinated by propaganda, Wynter wants to transition into being a boy. When Mason refuses to pay for the procedure, Wynter turns to the state for help.

Story
The Alt Apocalypse is the ground-breaking, genre-bending series from Tom Abrahams. It explores survival under the most extreme circumstances, but with a twist (and no cliff-hangers). This series, which can be listened to in any order, features the same core characters in each complete story. But every book dunks them into a new, alternate apocalypse; a nuclear holocaust, an earthquake, a flood, a wildfire, a hurricane, a plague, and even zombies.

Government Corruption for Private Financial Gain
Good storyline not great. My favorite narrator killed it as usual. Story was not so much about prepping as the title would believe you to think. Maybe used because of the popularity of the subject like a you tube clickbait title. Overall good storyline just not what I expected from the title. But hey I bought all four so must not have been too bad. Lol

Another classic Tom Abrahams / Kevin Pierce!!
If you've listened to the first three, you will want to continue with this one. I deducted one star from the Story category not because it's bad, but it felt like there were a couple of parts that were flirting with "filler". It's still great, don't get me wrong, but...a little fluff in there.
Overall though it keeps the story moving well. I know the author said that this would be a 5 book series, but I have a feeling this franchise has longer legs than that - I think we're going to see more than 5 books and I am here for it!
Kevin Pierce of course gives a 5-star performance, as always!
