Surviving the Bennett family

What an intriguing cast of characters. The Bennett family (specifically Mrs. Bennett and the 3 younger obnoxious children) and the charming wastrels trying to marry rich women. Mrs. Bennett reminds me of a bulldozer with the way she forces her wishes on everyone, then cries because she's being treated unfairly. I could hardly stand the women. And even with all the negatives of the Bennett family, Elizabeth and Fitz managed to live a happy and productive life which I was very thankful to see. This was a very stimulating listen that provoked a myriad of emotions as I listened. Mr. Darcy was beyond reproach and had unbound integrity. He must be an angel to put up with the Bennetts and the vile and evil men of the story. I admired him greatly. I highly recommend this amazing book. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrators did an exceptional job bringing the characters and story to life.

Very Enjoyable!

I adore Pride and Prejudice and I really enjoyed this variation box set. New challenges for Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy to overcome as they discover their love for each other. This is a bundle I will enjoy often, one story at a time or several at once. Definitely recommend!

Narrator Rafe Beckley does an amazing job in bringing these characters to life. A real treat.

Of the nine books I really enjoyed more than half!

The books that were good were really good and the ones that were bad were terrible. The whole small pox one could have been edited out. I'm sorry, but a witch hunt was just so weird. The Syphilis thing was creative, I'll give you that, but it was weird for Elizabeth to have another love interest who hated her. It took way too long to get to why that was the case and the book just got too out there to be fun to read anymore because I had to keep actively suspending my disbelief. But on the whole, totally worth a credit and FAR superior to the new AI generated ones being voiced by AI.

Useful to get nine stories together!

I loved the variation in plot lines; loved Caroline Bingley, getting her, just desserts!

Some tiny editorial issues; throughout, but the one that made me twitch was in Darcy’s Rescue. “Ravaged” does not mean the same as “ravished” — but in that book, there is a persistent fear of being ravaged! also, too much hand squeezing. If you did a word search on it, it’s ubiquitous!

But those are just nuts, very much enjoyed the rest.

Why weren’t the stories put in chronological order?!

These are great stories, but Elizabeth and Darcy are married within the first two stories, and six of the seven subsequent ones are all episodes that happened before their marriage containing information already shared in the first two books in the recording. If they were put together in a compilation, they should’ve been in chronological order. I’m really disappointed because I have about 40 hours of reading that will not hold any romantic suspense for me and the joy of the books is lost now. Caution to readers! Read the title details and attempt to listen in chronological order so you are also not let down.

Okay

All of the stories are okay but I had already heard all of them before. The narrator was good.
