This book is pretty good, fun, but has some lightweight parts. Weaknesses.
What I struggle with is this narrator... She does a good job overall, but virtually all the male voices, at virtually all times, speak in this constantly annoying minor tone, in a thrusting-lunging sort of rhythm, often sound, amongst other adjectives (besides unrealistic and unnatural) gruff, short and angry, sullen or brooding--or just simply like rude pushy jerks or assholes!
She is, sadly, very annoying to listen to as there are quite a few male voices. I have listened to her before and had the same problem. Please study and improve on your impressions of men's attitudes, tone, sound and manner of speaking!

A great sci-fi book based solidly on real science. In fact, a good premer on quantum mechanics. Be sure to catch the author’s remarks on the real science and construction of our universe home.

I am thoroughly enjoying this book series both in content and writing style. I did like the original reader better, Traci does a great job reading female voices but her male voices are all monotone and hard to discern between in my opinion.

A few parts were were too long. like the running . The alien head band was accepted too fast, I was shocked that the astronauts were not more carful.

I enjoyed the characters and the universe built by the author. While this story line wraps up nicely there is room for a sequel. The blend of real physics and imagery physics is well done. I will certainly purchase the next book if there is one. The narrator is good and does add a bit to the story. Overall well done.

Phillips makes characters have quirks and the discussions of ideas & beliefs & ideologies interesting.. not just science

Loved the book. A worthy successsor to the first one. The encounter with Kor was memorable, as was the confrontatioin with the dancers. Her losing the headband was a story by itself. Their escape from the quantum space was harrowing. All these are gems of storytelling.

I learned a lot and was exposed to a lot of ideas

I really enjoyed this book; in book 1, a lot of scientific concepts were explained in metaphors that made them really easy to understand and grasp...in this book, you get to actually LIVE scientific concepts, as the characters interact with them in the story itself. Phillips did such an amazing job bringing very complex scientific concepts to life, such as quantum superposition, the observer effect, non-locality, etc.

In addition, there is fantastic character development here, really getting to know the characters from the first book, in a much more intimate sort of way. There is an overarching mystery (not in terms of who did something, but in terms of how what was wrong was going to be resolved).

In addition, the narrator did a phenomenal job; she added emotional inflections, distinguished each character really well, did masculine and feminine voices very well, etc. Traci Odom really made this story come alive with her narration.

I highly recommend this book if you're interested in scientific concepts and if you like sci-fi themed stories. I would definitely read book 1 first though, as this does pick up where that one left off; there are some concepts you may not understand and some backstory that is mentioned that won't make much sense...however, the story can easily be followed without reading book 1 first.

overall I enjoyed the story. as a physicist I found it a little hard to accept some of the more outlandish claims, but that doesn't take away from the story... it is science fiction after all. I went in wanting to be entertained and I want disappointed.

I'm just a regular gal who loves science based novels. Phillips has delved into quantum physics with delicious vigour! Really enjoyed the fictional journey based on solid physics.
