Publisher's summary

It is a common truth in my life that when it rains, it pours.

The killings that once plagued New Orleans are cropping up again in Seattle. The local office is stumped. I’m called out to lend a fresh set of eyes, and my unique magical touch.

It’s only when I get there that I realize the Seattle office isn’t stumped at all.

They’re being silenced by the Mages’ Guild, a corrupt magical institution that doesn't want word to get out of what is plaguing the city. Worse, news of my magic might’ve slipped down to the underworld, hitting the ears of some extremely powerful demons.

What I thought was a routine murder investigation turns into a fight for my life. With the help of Darius, my stalker elder vampire, and my dual-mage side kicks, I somehow have to dodge the Guild in order to stop one of the most powerful demons I’ve ever encountered. If I don’t? It’ll escape back down below with proof of what I really am.

My life hangs in the balance, and this time, I can't see a way out.

Performed by Alyssa Keegan, Richard Rohan, Gabriel Michael, Nanette Savard, Terence Aselford, James Lewis, Julie Hoverson, Bill Gillett, Ken Jackson, Joel David Santner, Ian Putnam, Mike Carnes, Christopher Graybill, Renee Dorian, Daniel Llaca, Thomas Penny, Jonathan Lee Taylor, Eric Messner, Marni Penning, Bradley Foster Smith, Joe Mallon, Michael John Casey, Tyler Hyrchuk, Earl Fisher, Khaya Fraites, Duyen Washington, Elliot Dash, David Cui Cui, Julie-Ann Elliott, Matthew Bassett, Amanda Forstrom, Andy Brownstein, and Nora Achrati.

Boring at times but a nice listening

The adaptation is nice. At some points the music was too loud to hear the voices correctly.

Amazing!

Love, love, love this series (actually anything KFB). The Graphic Audios are a perfect complement for the action. Release them sooner! Oh and I vote for the SF Demigods & Chosen series next to GA plz.

Heart squishy dialogue

If for no other reason, listening to Darius' heart squishy dialogue, made this dramatic rendition worthwhile!
Darius has been one of my favorite male characters in this series, until Devon; then, Darius has to share the spotlight... in my eyes. 😉

Book two continues with Reagan and Darius’ story, this time sending us to Seattle to try and figure out what in the world the Demons are up two. I loved that Callie and Dizzy joined us for this ride. Something dark is cooking up in this magical world & Reagan is going to need to strap on her fanny pack.. I mean pouch, to fight it off.

This book is also a graphic audiobook & that was so much fun to listen too.

Everyone has a secret…

Great story, as exciting as the first book & intriguing as the story unfolds. Reagan is becoming more of a character that I would like to at least be friends with, although I don’t want to get into battles with her. She could possibly get me killed, let alone herself. lol!
I love how her story is unfolding & her relationship with Darius heats up. It’s quite interesting, although it could end badly for both of them.
I also find it very human of Reagan that she does things she definitely knows is not good for her, but she jumps in with eyes wide open & a sword in her hand…most of the time. :D
Maybe one day she will heed the warnings of her mage friends & finally stick to saying ‘No’ to everyone, especially Darius! lol!
I also want to say that I really enjoy the dramatization of this book series so far. It’s really fun & enjoyable to listen to. Almost wish there was an actual TV show of this series made as well. But for now, the show is in my head, & it’s really good! :)

Love the characters but not much happened

The first book in this series had me wanting to keep listening to see what happened next and the relationship between the main characters was interesting and loved the banter. However this second book I kept waiting for a main plot because it all seemed like side stories and I felt like not much happened. Also I love a good spice scene and romance subplot but thought the relationship between the MCs advanced out of nowhere and nothing really caused it and it felt out of character for the fmc. It had me thinking “ok I guess they are now together and she just flipped for no reason and seems out of character for her but I’ll go with it.” The banter is still there and that is what saved this story for me. Also that sweet old couple are great characters that seem to be vital but I just don’t know what that is other than acting in a fairy godparent type role. The first book had me hooked so I just hope something more happens in book three so I’ll stay invested. The voice actors are perfect for each character and believable in their roles so I’m hoping they don’t change any of them during the series.

Dramatized is better

Can't wait till the whole "Dramatized" series comes to Audible! No rushing through sentences, No characters sounding alike.
It's like watching a movie in your mind! I agree about the "gratuitous sex" not really necessary.
