Publisher's summary

There’s only one distraction from the stress of combat for a legionnaire - the next mission. For Sergeant Kel Turner and Kill Team Three, the wait is never long. Whether it’s on a core world snatching a delusional genius who knows too much or on the edge forging allies among a complex alien culture, Dark Ops are the foot soldiers of the House of Reason’s galactic game for dominance.

Danger looms over Kel and his teammates like taxes over a Republic citizen. The promise is written in blood. Now they face a crisis that makes their worst firefight tame in comparison. Kel learns that sometimes there are no clear answers, manuals, or templates to follow. Isolated from Republic help, when the lives of thousands hang in the balance, a planet looks for a savior.

Fortunately, when there’s a dark operator on hand, the odds favor the Legion.

Galaxy’s Edge: Dark Operator follows the earliest days of Legion Dark Ops following the Savage Wars. Written by US Army veteran Doc Spears with Galaxy’s Edge cocreators Jason Anspach and Nick Cole, Dark Operator: Rebellion is a thrilling military action epic!

Another enjoyable entry into GE universe

Second book in the series about Dark Ops legionaries reads very different from the first one - instead of almost "James Bond" style lone operator shindigs we get to see team doing their thing on a world inhabited by aliens, which provides for completely different style of narrative. Still, Doc Spears delivers and this is a worthy addition to the already impressive setting.

A holy crap page turner

Legionaries have endless responsibilities. Helping other species is one of them. I am amazed how many non human species exists in these books. Kel Turner and his team of fellow Legionaries is tasked with training aliens how to be a functioning army. These are aliens. Maybe they don’t need or want our help. When a legionnaire gets freaked out, it’s a bad situation. Another holy crap page turner.

A Must Listen for Military Enthusiasts!

In yet another amazing entry into the series Anspach, Cole and Spears knock out the exact feel of the life on the cutting edge of military tactics and training in their gorgeously crafted Galaxy’s Edge universe.

Not dark enough, but worth a listen

I enjoy these books when I need some light listening. Compared to the savage wars and other galaxy’s edge stories, the dark operator series is very sanitised. However, I still like the main character, despite him being way too perfect. I think Kel needs a dark side, like everybody has, to bring these stories up to the level of the other books written about TGE.

An interesting story with exciting setting!

I love the series, from the main line to this offshoot. re-listening to the first book into this one felt a little different. comparatively, the tension of the story seems to be lacking, but if you enjoy worldbuilding of the Galaxy's Edge and exploration of these lovable characters, it is a great addition to the story.

Excellent story enjoyed the book, but not as good as the first released books and the series.

Very Entertaining...but...

This is a very entertaining series, great character build-up, very good performance; but, sometimes it doesn't seem like the story is going anywhere or closely connected to the GE series.

Kill team 3 vs Bugs!

The Dark Operator series continues to impress, great action, fantastic intrique, and hints at a bigger conflict yet to come.

Well done!

Kel Turner is probably one of my favorite characters in the series now. The narrator does an awesome job! Job well done.
