About this listen

From New York Times bestselling author Craig Alanson comes book four in the Convergence series, melding action-packed urban fantasy with his signature humor. Read by none other than award-winning narrator R.C. Bray.

Kaz Wolfe has everything he needs to prevent a Convergence that would allow gods and monsters from the Nether to invade our world. Everything, other than a single clue about what a Convergence is. Or how it works. Or how to stop it. To get answers, he might have to take a fun-filled family road trip to the last place he wants to go: the Netherworld.

Awesome Piece of the Saga. Dog Friendly.

The story was great, albeit it felt a bit rushed or thrown together at times. like Craig has a cool idea for a side quest and instead of slotting it in naturally or dropping it, tosses a dart at the timeline to drop it in.

Narration was top notch as always, but there was awkwardly mixed sections where either it was a different recording studio, different mic, different something that was jarring at times and pulls you out just a bit.

overall the gang is fun, the humor is charming, duke is the best boy, and this book finally pushes the stakes to where they need to be and avoids the tropes you expect from any story with a doggo.

I hate these cliffhangers. I have a year to wait?

This is a really entertaining series. there is suspense, humor and excitement. We don't need a cliffhanger . The characters are all described so well I really get to know them. The stories are always so exciting I can't stop listening. The narration is done so perfectly I can't imagine anyone else doing it.

Stick with it past the first third of the book

Of the four books, this one got off to the slowest start, and I was wondering where it was going, and if I would bail on the series after this. Thankfully, it picked up and as with the first three books was quite enjoyable.

Brilliant story and follow up!

This is a brilliant story and excellent follow up on the previous installments. The talking dog and the “cat “are exceptionally well conceived and entertaining! Looking forward to the next installment!

One of the best story line. humor, cats, dog, and great dialog

Great story, has a lot of potential for more stories. The dialog and R.C Bray does a great job

Fun book

I have enjoyed all of Alansons books and this was no exception. I felt like this was the best of the Convergence series so far. As I was nearing the end I was already wishing there was a "next book" ready for me. RC Bray was his usual excellent form.

More solid action sitcom fantasy

This book takes our cast of characters to new locales and gives us a chance to see how they behave in strange circumstances. The answer, of course, is the Alanson special: serious, joking, strange, and loyal. Recon is exactly on brand for what fans of this author expect and that’s fine.
