Publisher's summary

Librarian Charlie Harris and his ever-intuitive feline friend Diesel must catch a killer in a deadly game of cat and mouse where no one is who they seem to be . . .

At last, Charlie and Helen Louise's wedding is only a month away. They're busy preparing for the big day, and the last thing Charlie needs is a new mystery to solve. Enter Tara Martin, a shy, peculiar woman who has recently started working part-time at Helen Louise's bistro and helping Charlie in the archive. Tara isn't exactly friendly and she has an angry outburst at the library that leaves Charlie baffled. And then she abruptly leaves a catered housewarming party Charlie's son Sean is throwing to celebrate his new home in the middle of her work shift. Before ducking out of the party, Tara looked terrified and Charlie wonders if she's deliberately trying to escape notice. Is she hiding from someone?

When Tara is viciously attacked and lands in the hospital, Charlie knows his instincts were correct: Tara was in trouble and someone was after her. With the help of his much beloved cat, Diesel, Charlie digs deeper, and discovers shocking glimpses into Tara's past that they could never have predicted. Will they catch the villain before Charlie's own happily ever after with Helen Louise is ruined?

Another great read in the series.

I am never disappointed with the plot, the writing, nor the person who reads the books so well.

Entertaining, a unique story with a great ending

Another great book by Miranda James. Diesel and Charlie Harris are exceptional. I love all the characters and their connections as a family, either by blood or association.
I look forward to the next story!!

Another winner

Miranda James has created another wonderful addition to her series. All the characters are there as well as an intriguing mystery.
Erin Bennett, as always, gave a standout performance as she breathed life into the storyline and gave each character their own distinct voice.

A Man and His Cat.

I have always enjoyed the play between Charlie and Diesel. Ms. James has has a wonderful way of weaving a story around a whole community of characters. I have enjoyed each one of her stories. Southern charm and mystery at its best.

I love this series. It’s my favorite cozy mystery series. This book was as great as the previous books in the series, maybe better. I couldn’t put it down!

Another Outstanding Cat In The Stacks Mystery Series Book!

As in all of Miranda James’ books in this series. The book was engaging, well-written, and suspenseful. The audible version was, I thought, very understandable and expressive. I look forward to the next Charlie and Deisel book in the not-too-distant- future!
