About this listen

From USA Today and Amazon Top 50 best-selling author Shain Rose comes a gripping enemies-to-lovers stand-alone office romance where a ruthless and grumpy CEO is brought to his knees by the bubbly woman he thought he could control.

Vick

Rude. Harsh. Severe. Jett Stonewood.

The billionaire businessman refuses to crack a smile while vacationing in paradise. So, I work to introduce some fun into his life. If we have a bit too much by sleeping together, so be it. It's not a big deal. We just need to forget each other when we fly back home.

The problem: Jett acquires my company.

He’s everywhere now, telling me where I should sit in his office, how I should dress, and even who I should date.

He may be my boss, but I'm not listening. I'm done with him.

I just have to convince my body of that.

Jett

Bubbly. Airy. Overly optimistic. Vick Blakely.

She needs a lesson in safety precautions. Not that she’d follow it if our recent tumble in the sheets is any indication.

Doesn't she know that warnings aren't meant to be invitations? Someone needs to enlighten her that you can't keep tempting fate or it will backfire.

The solution: I acquire her company.

The little pixie flutters around in reverie, lost in her own daydreams.

But she’s in for a rude awakening. She works for me now, and I excel at dragging people back to reality.

A classic (and spicy!) billionaire romance!

So, this was my first ever Shain Rose read and apparently, I started this series completely out of order. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Whoops!

Thankfully, it’s a series of interconnected standalones, so I wasn’t in over my head!
#crisisaverted

When I was reading through the blurbs of the books this one appealed to me the. Ist because I’m an absolute heauxxx for grumpy/sunshine—add in a billionaire boss and his new employee and I’m SOLD.

Here’s what I loved:
1. While the steamy stuff happens almost from the start, the romance is actually a bit of a slow burn. I lowkey loved that aspect of it, it’s like the best of both worlds! Angst AND spice!
2. While I’m not typically a fan of OW/OM drama, it actually didn’t bug me at all in this story (probably bc everyone kept their hands to themselves, lol). You knew our couple were endgame and that makes all the difference.
3. I listened to this as an audiobook and the dual narration was great! Both narrators voiced each character beautifully and it was so easy to follow along!

If you love billionaire spicy romance, then you’ll want to give the Stonewood Brothers series a go! I’m definitely going to check out more books by Shain!

Opposites attract spicy read.

Reverie was a great opposites attract spicy read. Both narrators fit the characters perfectly bring the story to life and made me feel like I was in it in real life. Characters were really relatable and pulling each other to be their best at all times. Vick went through a tough time and Jett helped her to overcome her past. While Vick helped him see that love can exist. Can’t wait for more will definitely be adding these narrators to my list.

Cute, funny, and spicy

It’s an overall good story, a little cringey in some parts but enjoyable none the less. My heart pitter pattered on more than one occasion and the spice was definitely right in the sweet spot of detailed yet not completely graphic and plentiful but not overdone.

Now there are plenty of points in the story where mainly the heroine runs off over explaining something and it gets a bit annoying but most of the time it’s tolerable considering she wants to take in everything life has to give so I didn’t particularly mind it.

This story in my opinion was a good spicy fluff read. Enemies to lovers with a broody tall dark and handsome and a sassy hyper feminine sunshine.
I personally really liked this book and would definitely read it again.

Love this story

Great story!!! Loved Vic's spunky attitude. She doesn't take $hit from Jett. Loved the banter between Vic and Jett. The narrator for Vic was not the best choice. Her tone is a little too high and she sounds like a 16 year old.

Great story - Female Voice wasn’t right

This is kind of hard to convey but I didn’t really feel like the right female voice was selected. She’s a good voice actor and wasn’t unpleasant but she sounded too young or child like. I actually felt uncomfortable listening to her during intimate scenes because she didn’t sound like a grown woman.

I’m actually going to read this because it was such a beautiful story and I want to enjoy it without feeling gross at the narration. I do highly recommend this story.

Yes, yes yes!

Rose always delivers with her books. I love the storyline. I love everything about this book, except for one tiny little thing. The female narrator was a little bit too much, I understand that the character is all happy and cheery but I’m pretty sure it could’ve been more of mature happy and cheery. It got a little annoying at times with the character/narrator. This book made me cry, with happy tears of course too bad audible doesn’t give us more of Shane Rose’s books.
