About this listen

A revolutionary and much-needed exploration of Alzheimer’s and how patients and their caregivers can take back control from this insidious disease.

A significant portion of our population worries about the grip of dementia as we age. With over 6.5 million Americans living with Alzheimer's, the urgency for a solution has never been greater.

Dr. Heather Sandison is at the forefront of dementia care and research. The founder of Solcere Health Clinic, San Diego’s premier brain optimization clinic, and Marama, the first residential memory care facility to have the goal of returning cognitively declined residents to independent living, Dr. Sandison knows better than most what Alzheimer’s does to people—to their brains, their bodies, their families, and their lives.

If you're facing the challenge of Alzheimer's, either personally or as a caregiver, there is hope. A growing body of evidence shows that implementing a handful of strategies can improve cognition and quality of life in dementia patients. In Reversing Alzheimer's, Dr. Sandison lays out this customizable and doable approach so that you can start supporting you or your loved one's brain health right away.

Within this book, Dr. Sandison distills complex neurocognitive research into actionable steps, empowering you to:

  • Fortify your brain health against cognitive decline
  • Implement lifestyle changes that can reverse the effects of Alzheimer's
  • Transform your environment to support cognitive wellness
  • Understand options for brain health to fit any budget

Dr. Sandison's expertise, derived from her clinical practice, residential care, and peer-reviewed research, charts the course for a future where Alzheimer's is not a terminal diagnosis, but a reversible condition. Reversing Alzheimer’s is an essential tool for anyone aspiring to rewrite their story and achieve a future free from the affliction of Alzheimer's.

great for general brain health

I had bought this audible for my husband's cognitive decline, but I am actually going to use it for my CRPS which is a neurological ( brain) condition. I will say I am not a Vax fan so I won't do that part.

Professional readers should take the time to learn to pronounce scientific terms.

The author only narrated a small portion of this audiobook. The rest is narrated by a machine or a woman who sounds like one-on either case, machine or person pronounces almost all scientific terms incorrectly-it’s distracting and reflects lack of professionalism on the part of the reader and Audible.

My new favorite brain 🧠 book

Excellent guide that encompasses many of the important points of brain health! I use most of them in my coaching practice and at the Super Brain workshops and retreats. The End of Alzheimer’s Protocol by Dr Dale Bredesen is the foundation of the book and all the extra tips are so practical, so common sense and so important that it makes the book my new favorite 🤩 on the subject! Thank you 🙏🏻

A renewed look for family's concern with ALZHEIMER.

Very informative and a new approach that I believe is going to change the way we think about and care for our families with ALZHEIMER. Highly recommend and appreciate.

How to understand issues

This book is excellent to read and understand. Dr Dredesen’s book is also good but difficult to grasp. I highly recommend this book for caregivers and patients with cognitive decline

Ketones v Magic Pills

Big pharma has been chasing one particular strategy for many years, without success. The benefits of using MCT oils to provide ketones to provide energy for your brain have been well documented. You are what you eat is an ancient wisdom, but these issues are multidimensional and complex.

Dr. Mary Newport cared for her husband who suffered from early onset Alzheimer’s and documented her early successes with that approach, as well as failures with the Big Pharma offerings. I would also recommend reading her latest book “What If There Was a Cure,” & magazine articles / interviews regarding ketone therapy benefits. I started following her suggestions in 2013, and I am glad I did, but long covid has added to my challenges.

Dr. Heather Sandison has extensive clinical experience with Alzheimer’s patients, and people who are diagnosed with other conditions that may be helped by ketogenic diets. Sometimes simple discipline wins over big science . . . especially when the perverse monetary rewards are not aligned to maximise public health.

Disappointed

Very basic unless you have no knowledge about Alzheimer’s . There is nothing new in this book, I thought I would learn something
