About this listen

I was the Rift Magus—master of space and time, protector of worlds. For decades, I defended my realm with unmatched power. But when an unspeakable creature threatened everything I held dear, I was forced to create a rift to nowhere—a trap designed to seal it away for all time.

It worked, but the creature was not without power itself. It warped my magic, twisting the rift I made to take me back home, and I woke instead in the frail body of a young noble, Lucian Alastair Eldraine. Beaten, ransomed, and on the brink of death, Lucian's spark was barely a flicker, his power nothing to speak of.

But I am not Lucian. I am the Rift Magus, and though my strength is diminished, my knowledge remains. Now, I must rebuild my power from the ground up, reclaim the magic that was lost, and rise once more before the darkness that haunts me finds its way into this world.

I’ve reached the pinnacle of power once before.

I can do it again.

Great easy read

Really enjoyed, was a nice easy read. Simple and well executed it’s not anything game changing or revolutionary but for what it is it was great. I will be continuing on

Decent fun

The trope was one I like so I figured I would enjoy this and mostly I did. My one critique regarding the story is that it’s very basic. Nice, but a nothing spectacular story wise. That said, it was enjoyable enough. That said, the reading could have been better. It felt like the narrator never changed his tone and kept this song song my way of speaking that got annoying and felt inappropriate at times. Finally, I’m disappointed that this costs a credit on its own. It is a very short book, and so you might want to consider if it’s worth a while credit for just a few hours.

Wow,

Rift Magus is off to a fantastic start! I thoroughly enjoyed book one from beginning to end. The main character is incredibly well-developed and interesting, the world-building is excellent, and the battles are exciting and well-written. Everything about the story is engaging, and I honestly have no complaints. The narration is also top-notch, making the experience even better. I’m eagerly looking forward to book two and wish it was already out!

good one

So the book was entertaining but nothing more to be honest, I don't know if it a translated book or not but at parts it sounded like a Russian translated book. still a decent listen to past the time

Great

I’m excited to see what comes for this series. Definitely a less boring alternative to other fantasy books. It’s worth a credit

Fantastic!

I wasn't familiar with Sam's works prior to this purchase. I took a gamble on this book and author and was very pleasantly surprised. This is a top notch magical isakai in the bane of two of the absolute greats.

You will enjoy this book thoroughly if you have read the Last life series by Osadchuk, The Alechemist series by Romanovich or Seth Ring's Dreamer's Throne series. Story is great, the pacing is excellent. The main character strikes a good balance of capability and knowledge without being overly condescending or annoying (An opposite example for context would be anything written by Oleg Sapphire).

This book is worth your hard earned money! I look forward to seeing what Mr. Winton does next.

Good premise

A quick fix for an overpowered MC. I do hate how authors try to stretch out the book length by slowing down the narrator. Just be honest about it being 2-3 hours shorter.

short, run of the mill OP body swap

old expert high tier major reborn in you naive aristocrats body. really short listen, but entertaining. lots of trumped up villains and meeting the MC who has surprising hidden power. some interesting characters tho, and some sinister hidden plots going on. probably worth book 2

Boring

This book takes a favorite trope of mine and takes it no where. The book is as mid as mid can get. Honestly I'm disappointed and wish I would've refunded it after an hour of listening. The premise is fine but the characters lack well character. There are waaaay better books for this specific trope.
