Publisher's summary

Luke:

I have two mortal enemies - Max Stephens and whoever decided opposites should attract.

He’s everything I despise. Perfect looks, easy charm. The world falls at his feet the second he flashes a smile. We started our jobs at the same time, but we’re up for the same promotion even though I stay all night while he leaves at five.

I’m pretty sure I’m in love with him.

I can’t explain it, other than possible brain damage. He’s everything I’m not. Everything I wish I could be. If I hadn’t lost my parents so young. If my whole life wasn’t about making my grandparents proud. If I still hadn’t come out for fear of losing them.

At least that keeps me from embarrassing myself with Max.

But then life throws a curveball. Close confinement with my archenemy. Days on the road together for work. Forced to get to know him. Learn we’re not so different, that the person beneath his charm is even hotter because it has actual substance. Depth. Hopes. Dreams.

Suddenly, my crush isn’t so bizarre. A future with him isn’t just a fantasy. I could have the guy of my dreams...but only if I risk losing my last real family.

Max:

Everyone thinks my life’s so perfect, but if that’s true, why does my office crush hate my guts? Answer me that!

It’s not like I dream of a white picket fence and a dog with the guy. Much. I don’t even know if he’s gay. Every attempted interaction earns me a death glare, and I have no idea why.

Then we’re crammed in a car driving cross country. I get all the answers I ever wanted and no idea what to do with them.

Luke is gay. He doesn’t really hate me. He likes me, maybe even more than likes me. Maybe a lot more, judging by the way he kisses me. But he’s still in the closet. Even he doesn’t know if he’ll ever leave it.

And he might not hate me now, but that could change the second he learns he wasn’t totally wrong about me having advantages he doesn’t.

After all, the boss deciding which of us to promote is my uncle....

This office feud turned road trip romance has some sexy pit stops on the way to its HEA, so be 18 and over before you buckle up!

A Frenemies Romance

I’ve been wanting to listen to this book. The premise sounds like something I like.

It’s a story about frenemies, Max and Luke. They’ve orbited around each other’s life since they were 18. Not exactly friends. Luke considers Max as his personal rival. Max is both amused and puzzled as to why Luke seems to dislike him so much. It happened all through out college and up to their current workplace.

A work-related road trip became the pivotal point of their frenemy saga.

Luke’s struggle was understandable, but it really worked against him. His own paranoia, his obsession with winning and getting ahead of Max, his distrust for Max when Max had not done anything to warrant it. And it really hit hard and hurt much when he did what he did to Max outside the hospital. What a devastating scene. I personally think Max let him off easy.

Oh Max, living life to the fullest. My favorite MC in this book.

Overall, the story is heartwarming. It made me laugh out loud a few times. It made me feel for Max and for Luke. And I was grinning from ear to ear a lot.

Morgan Sharpe is a new-to-me narrator, he did a great job with this story.

I’d recommend this book to my friends, for sure!

side note: there’s a technical glitch in the audiobook, I’ve already let the author know. don’t let it affect your review. It didn’t affect mine. ^_^

Entertaining

I enjoyed this story very much. We follow the story of two enemies, that secretly have a crush on each other, as they are thrown together in close confinement on a mission for their work.

What starts off with snarky comments and jabs at each other turns hot and heavy when their control snaps. But not all is well in paradise as Max keeps secrets from Luke. It all comes to a head in an explosive way and they need to work out their difference.

I'd recommend coming along on this road trip, it was epic.

Morgan Sharpe brought each of the characters to life and put in a great performance.

I was given a copy of this book at my request and freely leave this review.

Enemies to lovers

This is a fun enemies to lovers, I do feel like i missed something towards the end I backed it up several times but I don't know, it just jumped from them not speaking to being together several weeks and no explanation as to how, It was a bit confusing but overall it was a pretty quick and entertaining listen.

Sizzling Enemies to Lovers tale

Surprisingly good after a slow start! Really revs up on the road and has some hot scenes though more physical description of the mc’s should have been included. Excellent narrator.

Great Story

This is my first book narrated by Morgan Sharpe. I enjoyed his performance.

This is a classic enemies to lovers story. Luke and Max have known each other since college and now work for the same employer. Throughout the years the two have made no secret about their disdain toward each other.

The CEO of the company they work for sends Luke and Max on a cross country trip to hand deliver an important package. On this trip the two discover that maybe they don’t actually hate each other.

The relationship between Max and Luke was wonderful and heart wrenching. They definitely had to work for their HEA!

Light fun read

This is another great read by Peter Styles, with developed characters (Enemy’s to lovers).
I loved Max and Luke, both characters were so charismatic. Both men knew each other from college and now work together. Their boss sends them to cross country together. Being forced together on this mission forces the two to really take a look at their feeling from one another. Who doesn’t love a good road trip? Their story is such a light fun ready, that kept a smile on my face. The narration was very well done.

Ups & Downs

An absolutely charming story, cleverly written and filled with laugh out loud humor.
The two main characters have easily recognized foibles and fears so that the reader can connect with them and appreciate their journey toward love, and we're treated to a feel good story as a bonus as well.
