My heart hasn't beat in a 1,000 years. I haven't uttered a word in prison, and the guards keep their distance. If they get too close, they die - until at last, my magic binds my soul to another. Story
Once I was a fae princess with sea-magic at my fingertips. Now? I’m a hunted supernatural in a squalid shop, stripped of my power. My only comforts are stale cookies, Elvis records, and my hula-hoop. Then a lethally sexy fae king arrives and rips even those away. After the brutal king throws me in prison, I strike a bargain with him: my freedom in exchange for helping him find a magic blade. What Lyr doesn’t know is that the blade might restore my stolen magic. But as we journey, the gorgeous jerk starts to make me feel things I’ve never felt.

Story
Most days, I steal from ships to earn a living. Not glamorous, admittedly, but it's honest work. Okay, fine. It isn't honest either, but it means I get to eat. Until one night, a sinfully sexy angel strides into my favorite dance hall and compels me to work for him. It isn't just work, though. He wants me to be his wife in Castle Hades. Apparently, his prophetic dreams say I'll help him become king.

Story
A girls' night out means three things to me: drinking whiskey with my best friend, trying not to kill anyone, and keeping my magic hidden. A fae gladiator like me isn’t supposed to exist anymore. But my Friday night takes a bad turn when a lethally gorgeous fae - Ruadan - tries to assassinate me. He's known as the Wraith, and he's taken a vow of silence until he’s slaughtered the outlaws on his kill list. Outlaws like me. Ruadan lets me live on one condition: I have to earn my place at the Institute of the Shadow Fae.

On the worst birthday of my life, I come home to find my boyfriend in bed with another woman. Within hours, I’m drunk, homeless, and pledging to stay single forever. And that is when the dangerously sexy Seelie King rolls through town, looking for fae like me. Every generation, the king holds a competition for Seelie queen. I thought this would be a simple profiling case. Just another Jack the Ripper wannabe, prowling London’s streets, searching for easy kills. I was wrong. This killer is fae, and he’s as elusive as smoke on the wind. But I’m an FBI profiler, and it’s my job to track him down. It doesn’t matter that one of the main suspects - a lethally alluring fae - is trying to seduce me...or kill me, I’m not sure which. I won’t be stopped, not even when panic roils through the streets of London or when the police start to suspect me.

"Happily Ever After" wasn't supposed to come with a do-over option. But when my husband of 20 years packs up and heads for greener pastures, and my son heads away to college, that's exactly what my midlife becomes. A do-over. This time, though, I plan to do things differently. Age is just a number, after all, and at 40 I'm ready to carve my own path. Eager for a fresh start, I make a somewhat unorthodox decision and move to a tiny town in the Sierra foothills.

It was supposed to be easy: find the drug maker. Find her, and drag her back to the dragons to deal with. She deserves death for what she's done. For someone like Weston, the best alpha in the world, the one who shuts people up just by walking in the room, it would've been. Until he learns what she is. Finding a fated mate is nearly impossible. Very few are able to do it. But the call of their bond is unmistakable. Against all odds, and in the worst situation imaginable, he's found his true mate. Her.

Second half was awesome!
I really struggled through the 1st half of the book. It was really annoying to watch Alli hate the Prince over something That could have been quickly cleared up with a simple conversation but kept getting skipped over for the sake of a plot. Finally once she did know the truth the book picked up and got really good. I'm really looking forward to see what fate has in store for our little Emperess.

From Enemies to Lovers - finally
Ruined King is second book of the night elves trilogy. Book starts after couple of months time cap after first books events. This is little confusing, because this are not the same between main characters as in the end of the first book.
Heroine Ally things Marroc/Gavin has betrayed her while poor Gavin tries his best to get free and to help his mate even if it will hurt him. About half of the book goes to get their relationship in the same place as in the end of the first book. This I found really unpleasing. Luckily their relationship moves forward even if at the end Alleys action really went against my emotions and I started to dislike her. While she is action heroine, she acts stupid in many ways. It’s hard to relate to her.
Gavin on the other hand is wonderful character that has evolved a lot from the first book and kept doing so in this one. He is so strong character that you should listen this just to get to know him. I just with he would have more unselfish and emotionally mature counter part.
Lack of character and romantic relationship development is replaced in very fluent, action packed events. This is the best side of this story: events roll on, there are a lot of twists and turns.
Narration was again really good, but I would have enjoyed it even more of Gavin’s part would have been read by a male voice.

Fun if you don’t think
This is the second book in the series. I enjoy fantasy romance so I gave the first one a try. It reads a bit like fan fiction but I overall enjoyed it. I think the main thing that I keep finding terribly distracting in the series is that it supposed to be set 1000 years or so in the future and references current (or near current) pop culture as fascinating to the characters. The world has undergone an apocalypse like event and there seems to be little advance or clean up after. This wouldn’t be so problematic except that there is no explanation as to why everything is still preserved (Twinkies and MP3 players). Since there’s magic in this universe it seems it could have been explained easily without such a plot hole. Overall, the characters are somewhat interesting and it’s fun if you don’t think about it. I haven’t decided if I’ll spend a credit on the third. I think this is a good plus series or would recommend if they converted to omnibus where you get all 3 for 1 credit. They are a bit short for a credit a piece and the story line has some issues

A good sequel
Main Male Character progressed in this book and we were able to understand him better. I did notice a few inconsistencies between book 1 and 2, but to me this was more of a light read and it didn't pull me from the story.
Wish the Main Female Character showed more growth and depth, but all and all a good relaxing read.

Excellent.
Loved this one and the first book, even if Astrid makes some dumb decisions and poor Galen is left trying to survive her harshness. I thought they might become real enemies at one point with how mean she was to him, but alas, that didn't happen (thankfully). I look forward to reading the last book! My only complaint was that j was hoping we'd get more hot scenes between the two of them and a little more detail, but there was only one (two if you count the battle, which I don't) and the author slims over it. I could have sworn this series was for adults, was I mistaken? Hm...
