Lately, my life has been a big, fat, hairy midlife crisis. I could really go for a boring day or three.
Apparently, there’s no rest for the over-forty crowd.
Yes, I have fabulous friends.
Yes, I have a beautiful baby.
Yes, the ghosts are coming back home.
Yes, I’m in love with the Grim Reaper.
However, that sexy Demon has got some major ’splainin’ to do … like his possible involvement in the shocking kidnapping of my worst and most deadly enemy.
With a drag queen and an ice queen as my back up, we’re going to sashay away into the Darkness to find the truth and turn a wrong into a right.
Although, I’m learning fast that black and white are often clouded with shades of gray.
Whatever. I’m putting on my rose-colored glasses and going for it. I plan to live midlife in peace … not pieces.
Good luck to me.

loved the narrator she did a wonderful job.

This book was not ready for release! First: Label chapter one properly as prologue. Summarize salient final points of prior book.
Second: Two chapters repeated was a great disappointment. See #1.
Third: Give editors time to edit! Chapter 11 fully omitted upon both listens! What the bloody hay-hay?!? That never happened in Twilight! Peterman has lost fans due to this publication mess.
I love this series. I want them all. I want this one fixed!
No spoilers!
*Given the epic saga has occurred within less than a year, character growth is as expected.
*Trusting oneself takes time. *Impulsively is hard to overcome. *Chewing on toothpicks in deep thought is an actual phenomenon.
*C.V. Takes comfort from it. Comfort is oft needed.
*They serve as comic relief, character consistency, & stress relief.
*C.V. Shows the depth of her love & compassion. Her personality reflects the immensity of her eternal responsibilities. Remember her other forms.
*The mantra is necessary for all in times of crisis.
*Dirk shows why he’s fabu. He is death incarnate. Remember how immortals remain sane.
*Boss battle isn’t Peterman at her best. Yes, all immortals present, with The Pale Rider, would overpower much. How they were evened just wouldn’t occur.
MINOR SPOILER ALERT
Mid battle mistake is illogical.
Can’t fully speak her name, to all that talking? Nope.
It feels like Peterman was pressured unduly for a release date. Battle could have gone so many ways & continued the story.
Actual ending does make me itchy for the Fall 2023 release date. (I don’t know if audio has the same timeline.)
The production errors need to cease. Take the necessary time! Extensions costs Blackstone & Peterman less than lost, annoyed, readers writing poor reviews.
I love how Almasy has voiced everyone! I’m not southern. My internal narration can’t hold a candle to hers! Do right by your prolific author & wonderful voice actress!
Audible & Blackstone Pub letdown Peterman still great
