Strange book but many good insights
Not well organized. Sheehan is all over the place. Preachy in tone. Feels more like a homily at mass than a book about running. All that said, lots of great insights from one of the most preeminent minds in sports. So the nuggets are worth the drudgery of the listen even though it would be silly to give this five stars. Like a bad run, I was glad when it was over but feel better off for the experience anyway:)

Profound writing. Pedantic performance.
Great book. Terrific content. Many interesting insights. The vocal performance had a tone that sounded slightly condescending. (assuming unintentional) I used to read Sheehan's articles in Runner's World magazine. I believe the author originally offered this work with more humility and introspection intended. Reading Sheehan always inspired me. Hearing his words read by someone else sort of annoyed me because it wasn't the same as reading them. I believe the reading versus audible experience of this work are two different experiences.
