About this listen

From a USA Today bestselling author...

Sam never understood why Eliza left him five years ago, ghosting him without explanation. He’s avoided romance ever since, focusing on building his business. Money might not keep him warm at night, but it can sure buy a lot of blankets.

Then Eliza shows up on his doorstep and throws herself into his arms. She can’t explain her bruises or the head injury that’s left her with no memories of the past five years, including their breakup. No matter how good it feels to hold her, though, there’s no way he’s getting sucked into romance again.

He’ll deliver Eliza to her mother, and that will be that. But instead of finding her mom, they’re met by two attackers and barely escape alive. Despite the danger to his life and his heart, he can’t leave Eliza to fend for herself.

Together, they embark on a journey to reconstruct her past while evading the men chasing her. As Sam and Eliza close in on the truth, their romance reignites, but her secret threatens to destroy them both.

Prepare to be enthralled by this gripping story of amnesia, a second chance at love, and a secret baby. Running to You is an edge-of-your-seat Christian romantic suspense set in Maine that will keep you reading all night long.

Story was great. Virtual voice not so good.

About the time I got used to the virtual voice reading, it would read punctuation or inflection would not match emotion. The story deserves better.

Good story!

The story was a good one, but the virtual voice takes away from it. Voice inflections are often used in a way that I’m sure the author didn’t intend.

Satisfying

The Wright family is jam-packed with heroes and this story showcases their strengths while examining Sam’s weaknesses. Loved the true to self characters and the thread of God’s desire to rescue us from ourselves running through the plot.

Good story

The story was good but the narration was lacking. Not a fan of the computer reading. The inflections were terrible and the speaking the apostrophe s was just stupid. This would have been so much better with a person doing the reading.

Good story.

I did not like listening to this book with virtual voice. It was very distracting from the story because the voice was flat with no emotion.

Very Suspenseful

This storyline was written well, with faith, family, and mystery. I listened to the book in a virtual voice that was computer-generated narration. However, the virtual voice was very bland and without emotion. Sometimes, it was hard to determine which character was speaking. It would have been nice if a male and female voice could have distinguished the two main characters. I will stick with real people narrating from now on. This story deserves better.

emotionless computer generated reader

a decent story became boring due to "the reader's " inability to modulate its "voice" between the characters, their sex, and appropriate emotions.
I'll stick with human readers from now on.

Great story ruined by Virtual voice.

This was narrated by “ virtual voice. “. The only reason I made it through the book was because it was a great story. But ruined by the narrator 😢

Chap 17- until the end were very suspenseful

I do not like virtual voice. It was robotic sounding and “read” some things like apostrophe was read as a word. The story itself was a bit slow for several chapters but about chapters 14 to the end very engaging. The earlier chapters seemed repetitive to me as Sam repeatedly thought Eliza would leave him again.

action

I loved the continual action! at every turn there was something else to keep me on my toes. I'm a sucker for a great second chance romance.
