Anthony has a secret.
One Christmas Eve when he was twelve, he found Santa laying presents under the tree.
He never told a soul. And the following year he snuck out of bed to see if he could repeat the event.
Every Christmas Eve for more than 40 years, he and Santa have met, only now, they’re friends. But although Anthony is ageing, Santa hasn’t changed since that first night.
Something has changed in Anthony, however.
He wants more than one night a year.
He wants Santa.
Except he knows it’s a fantasy.
Everyone knows there’s a Mrs. Claus, right?
Santa has a secret.
And when he finally shares it with Anthony, the consequences will rock both men.
But what will it take to make both their dreams come true?

I enjoyed the way "the Santa myths" were set straight ! 😉
What I'd call an "easy listen" - something that can be listened to while doing something else without losing track of the story.
🎧 Narrator comment: [For me] Sometimes John Solo's narration can be a little hit and miss. He has absolutely nailed the performance on Santa's Secrets. His voice really suited the characters (especially as Anthony gets older), I had no problem distinguishing the characters from each other and his rhythm, inflections and intonations all worked to bring the book to life.
Delightful ❤️

Wonderful story.

The blurb and other reviews (and the absolutely gorgeous cover!) do a great job of outlining the premise, and this story really is as sweet as it sounds - without any sort of sugar shock. It's magical yet grounded in realism, if that makes any sense. I appreciated the author's imaginative and unique spin on how Santa came into being and his existence in the "North Pole."
This could fall into the best friends to lovers trope, but it's much more than that. The years of longing, the uncertainty, the realizations, the revelations. I loved how Santa and Anthony's love story unfolded - slowly and (ironically) believably - through the decades. Their love grew piece by piece with each yearly encounter, snapshots of how they built a relationship over time, and it all gets pretty steamy too.
Stories told in time lapse style are interesting. I always wonder why authors choose to feature this or that moment and, in this case, which year (Christmas) of Anthony's life to chronicle. I enjoyed "seeing" his concerns, experiences, priorities, etc., change over time, just as they would in real life. His friendship with Santa that grew into a romantic relationship was one of the few constants in his life, and the author really shows how that grows stronger through the years.
Narrator John Solo delivers a solid performance here, creating distinct voices for Santa and Anthony. This is an audio book I'll be listening to again, and not just at Christmastime.
The Hallmarky Christmas Romance I've Always Wanted

Having to wait a whole year for that special person seems like forever. but in a blink of an eye it's Christmas Eve. The sad part comes when Christmas morning comes and it's time to say goodbye/see you next Christmas Eve.
I enjoy this story, it's a different take on the story of Santa Claus/St. Nick and how things are not what they seem.
Human imagination is very strong, we just don't want to believe/ refuse to believe that anything can happen once we put our minds to it.
Excellent story KC.
A year is never too long.
