About this listen

A reckless princess. An enemy kingdom. And a mistake that could cost her everything.

Princess Rowan thought she knew her place in the world.

She never expected to feel like an outsider.

She certainly never imagined she would fall in love, least of all with a man from a barbarian kingdom half a world away.

But when series of missteps lands her in the hands of the people she was brought up to hate, she is forced to reconsider everything she thought she knew about both lands.

And about herself.

After a lifetime of animosity between the kingdoms, will the Socairans ever accept her as one of their own?

Or will her mistakes push her people into yet another war?

This enthralling story from the Lochlann Realm takes place after The Lochlann Treaty, but can be devoured and enjoyed all on its own.

Good story, easy to catch on

Honestly, I started this book without reading any reviews and I loved it. It was an easy listen, I would have loved more romance but I’m still quite pleased with it. Me, personally, I hope to continue with the series as I am too invested now to not find out what happens next.

LOVE this story…like it on audible. Ish.

This series is hands down one of my top 5 and I’ve read them all, but I’m not a super fan of this narrated version. I had a hard time with the voices and accents and often times felt the inflection wasn’t there when necessary…more monotone when someone (mostly when Theo or Evander spoke) was excited or angry, though Rowan was typically appropriately excited/angry/etc. I also struggled with the accents as they’re not at all how I read them in my mind based on the descriptions written…personal preference? I’m not sure.

Overall…I gave this 4 out of 5 stars because as I said, I am completely in love with this story and series and even though I wasn’t super excited about the narration, I’d definitely listen to the next book just to know what happens…but for me, in the future, I will not listen to an audible AFTER reading the books; though I would try audible again on a new book.

This series!

I absolutely loved returning to the Lochlann world with the second generation. Rowan is literally the best! And manages to find herself in quite the predicaments. Olivia did a great job bringing Rowan, Davin, and the rest to life. I always adore Elbin's characters and worlds, and having Olivia bring them to life made it even more enjoyable! I highly recommend!

These amazing ladies did it again!!

Back into the world of The Lochlann we go. Rowan is a fiery Princess starting of the next generation to this tale where she finds herself stuck in Socair territory and Lord Theodore. Loved both the book and this narration for the story.

Love it!

I had read the book before I downloaded it via Audible, so I knew that I would already enjoy this version. But it was even better than I thought it would be. The narrator is fantastic. I enjoyed all of her voices (though some sounded different than I imagined them to be while reading), and the pace at which she narrated. I was able to pick up on things that I missed the first time as I flew through the book. I highly recommend picking up the audible version of Scarlet Princess!

Excellent

I read Scarlet Princess when it first came out and being able to come back to the story via audiobook has just be wonderful!

Olivia does a fantastic job with her narrations and I loved her Lochlann and Socair accents. She really brings out subtle differences between each character making it easy to follow conversations.

Loved it!

Back to Lachlann!

The Lochlann Feuds was the highlight ok my 2021 reading year. It turned this 40ish mom into a fan girl and I'm not assaimed. Do yourself a favor and listen or read this series. The narrator has such a lovely voice she is a joy to listen to AND she does the other accents too!! I'm including my original review just below. 👇

Man, I can’t tell you how excited I am to enter back into the world of the Lochlann Treaty! I had so much fun with this book! I probably would have read it in one sitting except for #adulting.
Rowan is such a fun character. She’s a little spoiled, brash, and has ZERO filters on her sass which leads her to make stupid decisions without thought of the consequences. Through an unwitting accident, she’s faced to face the harsh reality of her choices. Mommy and Daddy aren’t there to smooth things over and now her and her cousin’s lives are on the line. There was really good character development in the story and it seems like she will continue to grow throughout the series.
The whole time I was trying to figure out Lord Theodore and Evander’s motives. Who’s really the good guy? Is he really the bad guy?? Do we have a little Mr. Darcy/Mr. Wickham thing going on? I DON’T KNOW! It’s going to drive me crazy till November!
I got to the last page without realizing it and I tried to turn the page 5 or 6 times before I realized that was the end. I was in the staff lunchroom at work and It was a supreme effort not to make a dramatic scene right then and there. LOL!In conclusion, can it be November yet??

Just wow

After the Lochlann Treaty series I was really happy to return to this world but now I’m hooked with the adventures of Rowan in Socair (thanks for that Elbin)
I read this one before listen to the audiobook and in the first minutes I was having sooooo much fun with this version! I loved how Olivia brings everyone to life and all the different accents are amazing (Rowan imitating Logan lol)
Now I’m looking forward to continue listening the rest of the series!!

A great story

This turned out to be a great read. I have to admit at first I didn't think I was going to like it. As the plot thickened and characters revealed their roles in the story, I was hooked. A princess who had some mishaps landed her with people she was raised to hate. She had to endure the trial of sorts & hear a lot of bad things about her family. Her captors wanted her to pay for crimes she didn't commit. Her story will capture your attention and the ending will shock you.
