About this listen

The shapeshifting alien race known as the Skrulls have infiltrated every branch of the Marvel Universe, from S.H.I.E.L.D. to the Avengers, and even the interplanetary defense force S.W.O.R.D.

As the New Avengers watch the leader of the Hand, Elektra, transform into a Skrull after her death, they come to realize that an attack is coming, one that has been planned for years. From heroes to villains, anyone could be a Skrull in disguise. Uncertain of who to trust, the team tries desperately to unite against an unseen foe. But it is too late.

The invasion has begun.

A crashed ship in the Savage Land. A prison break at the Raft. Thunderbolts Mountain under attack.

And an armada of Skrull ships approaching Earth.

Scattered and hopeless, heroes and villains alike must team up to fight a war they never saw coming, the fallout of which will change the face of the Marvel Universe as we know it.

This novel is based on the the bestselling Marvel event by Brian Michael Bendis and Leinil Francis Yu.

with so many fantastic characters, the narrator did a fantastic job differentiating one from another.

Excellent Performance

I like that it's a little darker, it's way different than the show. Is there actually writers who read the books or anything? no it doesn't have to be the same.

the storytelling

I enjoyed the story, very entertaining. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series to get it complete picture.

As a fan of the comic, I love the fleshing out of the story. And the narrator does a fantastic job. I've listened to this one many times.

Great narration, terrific expanded story.

it was well worth the wait. Just spent the entirety of my work shift listening to this because just when I thought the story was going to give me a good time to take a break between acts, they left it compelling enough to not take that break.

The Best of the Marvel Series For Sure!!!

This is a story I was not familiar with from the comics and I found it very compelling. I've tried perhaps five different Marvel books (some shorts) and this was far and away the best of them. The quality of the storytelling was excellent if you are interested in going through the litany of heroes and I found that I was down with that. If felt like a comic book.

I wish I had known going in was that this was a compendium of the heroes in the Marvel Universe from whenever this was originally a comic book. I was not familiar with many of the characters and I would have been well served to look some of them up before starting. To be honest, it didn't take too much away from the story to not know all the heroes because many characters do not do much, but it would have been less confusing. The author has the characters talk about each other using their first names a good deal (i.e. they often talk about "Carol" who is Carol Danvers aka Ms. Marvel) and I could have used some brushing up to keep up with that.

A fun escape into fiction.

Best of the Marvel Audio Books I have Tried

I've never read the physical copy of secret invasion, but now I see why so many were upset about the MCU Version of It...

Damn.

The narrator isn’t bad but wasn’t right for this book. He doesn’t change his voice very much and with all the characters in this book it gets very hard to follow. This should have been a Graphic Audio title.

Hard to follow
