About this listen

Eve Larrison has a rare gift: as a hyper-polyglot she speaks over 60 languages. She's uniquely qualified to assist in an attempted kidnapping case that has international overtones. But this assignment is exceptional. The target of the abduction is Royce Raiker, stepson of the head of The Mindhunters. And she'll be going into deep cover with Declan Gallagher - as his "wife". She never suspected that the pretend marriage would be the toughest part of the assignment.

Declan knows he can ill-afford distractions on this assignment, and Eve Larrison provides one hell of a distraction. They realize that Royce will never be safe until the people who targeted him are brought to justice. But as Declan and Eve infiltrate the group responsible, it quickly becomes apparent that to solve the case they'll need to unravel the questions surrounding the boy's birth. The only ones who knew those secrets are dead. And digging into the old mystery has them both marked for the same fate....

if you like Audible Brant, this is a must

Part of the reason I enjoy these is, of course, Pinchot. If anyone remembers Beverly Hills Cop. this will bring it back. he is fantastic with accents.
Not much of a romance person, I enjoy these for the interesting plots and always the happy endings. Life needs more happy endings...which is why I guess they call this "fiction". Explains my other interest...revenge. Haha

One of Her Best in the Series

Ok, now we're talkin'! This is one of the best "episodes" in this series. While Pinchot is NOT my favorite narrator, I have gotten used to him and his superficial feminine voices. This story had nice intricacies and I love that the Raker family is in the center of the action! I also enjoy seeing how all of the previous characters make special guest appearances in the sequels. Brant keeps their stories and characters alive that way. Although it is a little funny how the entire Mindhunters; staff seems to be pairing up with each other. Oh well, there are worse faults in stories to be had! Keep 'em coming Brant, I'll keep listening!

For some reason repetitive

The only part of this book that was repetitive was the steamy scenes. It looks like she took scenes from two books that were previous and put them together to make one scene which honestly it was very annoying considering there are various ways to make love

Great story!

Loved the story, but the narration did not do it justice. All the female characters sounded like fragile, uncertain women. Many of the secondary males sounded like slow, lazy males where there should have been a commanding urgency.

Narration great

I found the book really interesting plot wise. The character of eve was not as fleshed out as I needed. Also found the ending too stressful. But that’s cuz I’m a weakling about violence. Love this series and Bronson Pinchot is fantastic.

What now foreign languages or accents!

Come on Pinchot you can’t even take coaching in a Scottish language! And what’s a polyglot that has the same old poor female voice without a demonstration of the various languages spoken in the novel-LAZY & superficial, with only lost potential. Yes I did give it a generous rating despite the lack of fulfillment of potential. It’s a shame!

Another savory serving!!

Another gripping addition to Kylie Brant’s exciting new series “Mindhunters “. Each somehow more enthralling than the last. So I anxiously await the time when I might lose myself in the next thrilling installment. Many thanks Ms. Brant !!!

A REVISED REVIEW…

I want to revise my previous somewhat negative review of this book. I had just about give up on it when I left my first review. I’m glad I went back later and FINISHED the book, because the best was yet to come in the last 1/3 of it. All the pieces were finally tied together and the previous pieces that had me somewhat confused, now made a lot more sense.

I really like the Declan Gallagher character and hope he will reappear in other Kylie Brant books!

As always, the narrator, Bronson Pinchot doesn’t disappoint. If there were a rating higher than five stars, I would gladly give it to him!

If you can patiently think your way through to the final part of the book, you won’t be disappointed by the ending.👍
