About this listen

Dream cafe: check.

Being loved by three amazing men: check.

Life in Bremloc has been incredible for Evan. I mean, if you forget about the whole being "Evan-napped by a mysterious but gorgeous thief with dark magic" thing. Oh, and how that annoying magician Lupin popped up to reveal a massive secret and then vanished again like the jerk he is.

But still. Life is great.

When Evan gets the opportunity to travel to another city in the hopes of opening a second cafe, he thinks life can't get any better. There's just a few minor... inconveniences. Like being in the demon lord's debt. And tension rising with a warring kingdom. Oh, and the truth about his true identity.

Love can conquer all, though, right?

*This is Book 3 in the series and must be listened to in order.*"

A perfect “little treasure”

I loved this third installment in the series! As always, the heart, humor, smexy scenes, and worldbuilding are seamlessly woven together. Plus, we are *finally!!!* learning some real nuggets about Evan’s history. Jaclyn just needs to start writing these books faster, please and thank you. Five well-deserved stars for Nick’s narration. Because he uses such distinct accents and inflections for each character, I instantly knew which member of Evan’s “harem” was speaking. Outstanding job by one of my favorites!

Delightful

This whole series is so cozy and sweet. I love the dynamic between all the guys and loved seeing that sweeter side of Rowan in this book.

Muffin… lord have mercy.

I’m not typically the one who looks for smut in the isukai, portal fantasy, or progression fantasy. This series though has made me laugh and scoff at the silly little things.
All in all, I like the book series. The story has me more interested than the harem. I hope to see more series using this as a start to get more gay characters in the genre of fantasy books that Evan and I love. Like his men…

Absolutely in love with this series!

I absolutely love this authors books! The characters are adorable and deep. The story is great. The world building is beautiful and well paced. The angel series is also great if you’re into fantasy! I hope she keeps going! I’ll happily throw money to keep these books alive!

MIND BLOWING!!!!!!

O-M-G!!!!!!!!!! This book series is amazing!!! Each character has been perfectly written. I love each book and each character. And Nick did a mind blowing job narrating this book series. I love how Evan is such a cry baby.he’s so sweet and sappy. It’s teeth rotting adorable. The Spice levels were blood heating hot.the love and passion these characters have for one another is so sweet. Even the characters who are just friends.each relationship is so pure and loving. I so badly wish these books. Were longer but I do think this book ended perfectly how it did. I’m bouncing on the edge of my seat hoping and waiting for the next book to come on audible. This Author has easily became a favorite.and this Narrater as well. I recommend this book one hundred percent!!!

A big step down. Rowan is not doing it for me.

I loved the previous two books and I finished them both one after the other in just a few days. The characters were good, the story has been good enough, and the romance has been nice and fluffy just how I like it.
I have about 2 hours left of this book and I have to say, it is the weakest of the three by a longshot. I honesty found myself caring so little while listening to it that I tuned a lot of it out.
Rowan is, quite simply, not an interesting character, and the biggest source of eye-rolling in the series for me. Even the fantastic narrator can't save the character for me, the voice he uses for him is grating at all times.
The author really seems to want Rowan to come across as mysterious, cool and edgy, but it just falls flat for me. Practically everytime Rowan speaks he is reminding Evan and the listener that he's selfish and only concerned for himself, and how burdensome he views family and friends and blah blah blah. It gets old quickly, and comes across like a try-hard, teenage, edgelord that's trying to impress someone. The attempt at humanizing him more with the oddly convenient run-in with his foster parent was such a contrived eye-roller as well.
Focusing so much of this book on Rowan, and the uninteresting knights that I can't keep track of, while sidelining Mattix, Briar, Lake(mostly), Sawyer and Kuya, really killed this book for me. A big misstep.
Hopefully the fourth book will bring things back on track, and Rowan can dissappear back into shadows where he should have stayed.
