About this listen

In Eyes of Prey, Bekker, an insane pathologist who experiments with his patients’ pain thresholds, is finally brought down by an unrelenting Lucas Davenport, who brutally maims the doctor’s beautiful face but leaves him alive. “You should have killed me,” were Bekker’s parting and prophetic words.

In this sequel to Eyes of Prey, Bekker endures the indignities and horrors of imprisonment, taking comfort in the fact that it is only a matter of time before he will make Lucas Davenport pay.

Lucas Lured To Big Apple Mischiefs

In the fourth Rules of Prey installment, Lucas Davenport is lured to NY in pursuit of an escaped convict with whom he has history. Acting as the fisher, Lily Rothenberg, introduced in Shadow Prey, uses her feminine charms and the appeal of unfinished business to convince flying averse Lucas onto a plane to track down Bekker. As character after character is introduced, a vigilante killer storyline commingles and confuses. Lucas is an agent of skilled resolution for both streams, but it mars the devoted Prey reader experience.

As always, Richard Ferrone, captures the sounds of each player and vivifies their demeanors audibly. His performance enhanced what would otherwise have been a solid three star narrative.

character development spiders & Vipers

the complexity and deceptions of the main characters made my head swim! Lucas is some smart dude to even spot the web; let alone weave thru it.

Love this series

Read the books when they first came out and now I’m enjoying listening to them! It had been so long that I couldn’t remember the ending. It’s like reading it for the first time.

Lucas vs Becker Pt.2

What made the experience of listening to Silent Prey the most enjoyable?

The pace and depth of the story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Silent Prey?

When Lucas finally figured out how Becker was able to get close to his victims.

Which character – as performed by Richard Ferrone – was your favorite?

Michael Becker, Richard Ferrone made it seem like Becker was actually standing in front of me. I could feel the Insaneness in his voice.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Beauty and the Beast inside.

Any additional comments?

If a movie is made, don't cast Mark Harmon as Lucas. It needs to be someone more imposing to capture the essence of Lucas Davenport.

Lucas Davenport rocks!

By far this is one of the finest books Sanford has written. I was concerned about the fact that I had skipped four of his books from the early riding and went on to complete all the rest of his prey series but going back now and reading these I know it wasn't a mistake. Sanford doesn't awesome job in developing his characters from the beginning to the end I could not stop listening to this one

Holes in the story

When they setup the nazi lecture, they had to make the hall locked down secure. But Baker walks though a hallway finds a unlock door kills a cop and gets away…. Unbelievable

Set in Minnesota

This is a great story and I am enjoying listening to the books in order. It is quite clear however, that Richard Ferrone is not from Minnesota and his accents are decidedly east coast.
