Publisher's summary

Jade has spent her life fighting boredom in the terminally ill ward. Surfing the net or reading, she always envied the ability of others to go out and experience the world. She knew her wish to live a normal life was far beyond her reach, but after waking up one morning without the sounds of her life support, she opens her eyes and finds herself with a weak but healthy body in a magical world.

As blue gamelike system notifications fill her vision, she knows she'll have to adapt quickly in order to survive, but this is all she ever dreamed of, so Jade is up to the challenge. She will soon realize that you need to be careful what you wish for.

This is Andara, where her true adventure finally begins.

The happiest LitRPG

This book is just plain fun. While a lot of books in the genre go dark and gritty, Siphon makes a sharp turn to avoid that path.

Jade is a young woman who has a debilitating condition. She rarely has energy to move and relies on the hospital to keep her alive. Suddenly, she wakes up in a fantasy world with game like skill mechanics.

She gets the ability to Siphon the skills and attributes of anyone she touches. This lets her grow her skills and body quickly, but at a price. This actually brings up my only complaint about the book. Jade quickly gets a rather long list of skills. They will then be listed wth their skill level and percentage into that skill level. It can take a bit as the narrator goes through it. Other than that, fantastic book! I’m looking forward to the next!

Different in a good yet interesting way

This book is a lot to unpack.
It is very unique in a way where it is a melding of medieval fantasy meets 21st century.

The downfall really is when it it does this stat read out mid story over and over again.

Everyone’s hate on it when everyone loves the MC too much the story clearly states it’s like a D&D game so the Menüs and the too much char love was expected. I also played a lot of WoW and EQ so I expect that.

Great story

I loved this book. The author did a great job telling the story and creating the world. The Narrator was great and brought the characters to life.

Nice set up for book 2

I won't lie to you there doesn't feel like there is a plot in this book. I did however enjoy it immensely. Main character was fun and witty and all the others where very interesting. I wish there was more magic and less talking at some points but that's just a personal preference.

kind of a shoujo isekai gamelit

kind of a shoujo isekai gamelit. shoujo means its for girls, the main character girl has all these hot guys constantly coming to her rescue(not really my cup of tea), isekai means another world, she was an terminal hospital patient, when she dies shes transported to another world where there magic and game like status screens and stuff(which I'm totally down for :), pretty good, entertaining, I enjoyed it despite the heroine getting rescued all the time.

Fun idea, not the best follow through

The main character is very funny, always making jokes and making modern references. It seemed like things happened in the book just because the author wanted it to. There was not a whole lot of world development or character development. No real struggle or emotions.
